Local News - Comics Moving Auction Tomorrow plus 60% off TPB's & 50% Off HC's Howdy! I spent a couple hours yesterday exploring some long-forgotten storage areas of our main warehouse. I knew going into this journey of discovery that our 29 years of occupancy in that vast building had created some areas of unsorted collectibles, but I was just not prepared for the amazing quantities of scarce material that I unearthed during just that first cursory survey. We have an amazing amount of cool stuff hidden away in that huge building! Signed MAXX print by Sam Keith While they are definitely really nice collectibles, the vast majority of the unusual items that were stashed away in our 56th Ave. building have no easy applicability to either our online business, or our Jason St. Mega-Store. As a case in point, I know that someone out there will be thrilled to own a very limited edition signed MAXX print by Sam Keith, or the awesome signed and numbered dinosaur lithograph I found by Dark Horse Comics paleontologist, Ricardo Delgado. We actually could have sold both of those rare art pieces long ago, but neither of those of those prints has a place where we can display them in Jason St. That being the case, they will be sold to the highest bidder in tomorrow morning's auction. Ricardo Delgado signed Dinosaur Lithograph Those two cool prints are just a tiny sampling of what we will be auctioning tomorrow. Will Moulton put together a great selection of 500 Silver Age comics, Modern variants, toys, statues, and prints, while I added 300 more sports items, non-sports card boxes, nostalgia items, and pulp magazines. The auction begins on Saturday morning at 11:30 AM, with quite a few extra items for the kids this time. We will also have free coffee and refreshments, including the first batch of this year's Holiday cookies! Added Auction Items Table 1 So you know, almost all of the items in tomorrow's auction are being sold to help us with our moving costs. That having been said, our friend John Paul (who runs awesome monthly comics shows in Clifton, NJ) is donating some of his Silver Age comics to be sold for the benefit of the kids at RAINBOW ALLEY. If you have a few items in your collection that you would be willing to donate to help these kids in need, I will include them as a part of tomorrow's event. Donations are still very much needed, as some of the kids from RAINBOW ALLEY are homeless, and may not be having a Christmas unless we can make some sort of a donation. Added Auction Items Table 2 I will close by mentioning that our huge 60% off sale on all of our trade paperbacks and graphic novels has been extended for you through close of business on Sunday! The same is true of our 50% off sale on our back issue comics, and also our 50% off sale on all of our hardback collections collections. The only difference with last weekend is that we are no longer publicizing this incredibly generous sale in the stores. Instead, this sale extension is ONLY for the benefit of those who read this newsletter.
