5 More Free Trade Paperbacks - WOLVERINE, DAREDEVIL, SPIDER-MAN, BATMAN/TARZAN and POWERLESS Trade Paperbacks! Howdy! A quick newsletter today, as I had to skip driving in to our main warehouse yesterday, due to yet another vigorous snowstorm. I'm not sure why this happens, but our region seems to alternate between high winds and snow in the wintertime. During the past couple of years we have been relatively dry, but with punishing 40 mph - 60 mph winds on almost a weekly (or daily) basis. This year we've had no winds, but several significant snowfalls. I prefer the snow, but with eight inches on the roads yesterday morning, driving the 26 miles to our warehouse just did not seem prudent... The reason that I really wanted to go in to work yesterday is that I am almost finished sorting an entire 30,000 issue Marvel grouping of titles. I've been working on these two pallets of Marvels for the past two weeks, gradually taking them from being completely unsorted, to placing them in alphabetic groupings, and then into alpha numeric title order. I was done through WOLVERINE on Friday, and managed to get most of the way through the X-MEN titles on Saturday before the snow began falling heavily around 4 PM. All I have left to do are the X-MEN annuals and mini-series (plus a few Y-Z titles), and yet another huge batch of Marvels will be completely finished. My completing my sorting of yet another Marvel grouping is great news for those you who collect Marvel back issues, as my work has greatly expanded our overall selection by filling in hundreds of scarce Marvel back issues that sold out during September and October. Better yet, the added depth of stock that I provided on many issues where we already had a few in stock will also act to increase the discounts that our automated pricing program offers you. Simply put, the more of any given back issue that we have in stock, the greater the discount our pricing program offers. While about half of the comics on the two pallets of Marvels turned out to be ones where we already had plenty of copies in stock, the 15,000+ Marvels that we did need will increase our online discounts on a great many of our Marvels well into the upper spectrum of our current 75%-85% off range. Moving on to today's special deal, I was very gratified to see how many of you took advantage of the free trade paperbacks offer that I made in Friday's newsletter. The five books that we offered for free that day for each $20 order increment resulted in hundreds of books being chosen by this morning. As much as I would like to be able to keep offering you those same five titles, our stock is now beginning to run a little thin on some of them, so I need to take that first free book offer off of the table. Of special note is the fact that we purchased one fantastic collection from a private collector that contained a huge number of newer DC, Dark Horse, Image, and Independent titles, most in NM condition. Will Moulton made it his personal goal to add as many of these beautiful comics into our inventory as possible, working on just this one project all day on both Friday and Saturday.
