Local News - Half Price Sale On All Books and Comics This Weekend

Howdy!

Yesterday was a blur of media attention here at Mile High Comics. To explain, my announcement late last week that we would be taking advantage of the booming market for industrial buildings in the Denver area by selling our smaller 56th Ave. building, and then consolidating our online operations into our Jason St. Mega-Store led to a feature article in the Denver Post. That well-written article received some national distribution, and was followed by 3 filmed TV interviews on Fox, CBS, & ABC.

The reason for all this media interest was my having mentioned in this newsletter that the burgeoning demand for buildings by pot growers was a primary cause of the dramatically increased values for Denver-area industrial properties. Given my recent experiences, that recognition of the decriminalization of marijuana's impact on property values was no big deal, but it definitely struck a nerve.

In all honesty, I find that reaction a little bit peculiar, as I have made mention several times in my newsletters that we have been turning down offers from pot growers (for either of our buildings...) on a regular basis. My finally agreeing to list our smaller building for sale ultimately came about only as a result of a realization on my part that prices per square foot for industrial buildings had risen so high ($85-$90) that we could eliminate almost our entire company bank debt by just by selling 56th, and then moving our online operations into the back of the Jason St. Mega-Store. I truly dread the thought of having to move those six million comics, but the offer to sell our building was just too good...

What should matter most to you about all this change at Mile High Comics is that I have a huge moving sale in effect right now at all of our stores. All of our back issues are half price, all of our trade paperbacks and graphic novels are 60% off, and all of our comics hardback collections are 50% off. We have never in our history offered a sale so generous with such steep price cuts, which certainly explains why all of our stores have experienced an incredibly positive week. If you want to score some great comics or books for your collection at half price, or less, I urge you to visit us soon.

I will close today's newsletter with some quick news notes. First, we will be hosting an exceptionally dynamic no-minimum-bid auction next Saturday (Nov. 21st) at our Jason St. Mega-Store. You can expect that we will be seeking to raise money for our impending move by offering a slew of cool collectibles that day, without any reserves.

Second, the huge 50% off MOVINGDAY! sale that we have in effect online right now is generating the most orders of any online sale that we have offered during 2015. If you wish to take advantage of our 50% off website sale, and then have your online order delivered to your favorite Mile High Comics location, please feel free to do so. This is a free service that we offer our local fans.
