1,000 More Silver Age and Rare Variant Comics Added!

Howdy!

I am really jazzed this morning, as the new high intensity fluorescent fixtures that I ordered after last month's first sale at our new Jason St. Mega-Store, are finally being installed. As of the moment that I took the pictures below, only 4 lights had been installed out of 25, but the difference was already dramatic. As soon as I finish composing this newsletter, I will be driving straight over to Jason St. to see what further progress the electricians have made. Watching this dream of mine finally come to fruition is really, really fun!

Aside from vastly improving the lighting in the Mega-Store, Lisa and Bill are also working non-stop to integrate even more great collectibles into the core inventory that we first created for last month's sale. Estimating conservatively, I would say that we have either doubled, or tripled, the overall selection in the Mega-Store since last month's "soft" opening. We now have at least 20,000 trade paperbacks and hardbacks in the new Jason St. Mega-Store, all of which will be half price, as well as 50,000 back issue comics that will be priced at $1 each, 6/$5, or a full short box for only $50. In addition, there will be toys, statues, games, and much, much more, all at steeply discounted prices. Simply put, this is a fun event that you just cannot afford to miss if you live anywhere near the Denver area.

As regards specific details, our next Jason St. open house and auction will be this upcoming Saturday, October 8th, from 10 AM - 3 PM. The no-minimum-bid auction will begin at 1 PM, and should be quite exciting as we are bringing about 500 items for the auction above and beyond the printed listing. About one hour before the auction begins, we will be laying those 500 items out on tables, for you to pick from. As long as you are willing to guarantee us 25% of retail as a starting bid, we will let you chose any items you might wish in the auction. This huge selection almost guarantees that you will be going home from the auction with some comics, books, toys, statues and other cool collectibles at insanely low prices! We are also easy to find by exiting I-70, just west of I-25, at Pecos, driving 2 blocks south to 46th, and then turning 2 blocks east on 46th. We are the immense warehouse right where 46th ends. Do yourself a big favor by joining us on Saturday for this Stage II opening of the new Jason St. Mega-Store! I personally guarantee that you will have a lot of fun...

While preparing for the second Jason St. Sale certainly has me excited, I am also thrilled by the wonderful improvements that we have been able to make to our website inventory this week for all of you who shop with us online. Just yesterday, for example, we added most of the 1,000 Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and rare recent comics that I brought back from my weekend trip to Dallas into our Premium New-In-Stock listings. Those great comics were loaded to our website at 10 AM yesterday morning and our sales almost instantly doubled for the day as eager fans began snatching up rare issues that we seldom have in stock. As the listing that I am including for you at the end of this newsletter clearly shows, we did not sell out of all of the great comics in one day, but we certainly did sell quite a few...

In case you are wondering, the reason why our sales skyrocketed so quickly after the New-In-Stock listing for yesterday was posted is simple: those fans have registered their desires with us via our free "Want List" program. The Want List program works really simply, in that you just need to create a personal password, and then you can begin marking any comic book, magazine, trade paperback, and hardback in our immense database as being something that you would like us to notify you about if we get a copy in stock. We send out about 2,000 free notification e-mails each day letting fans know about newly arrived items, and it should not surprise you that those people end up buying the bulk of the scarcer items that I score during my numerous buying trips.

All of the above having been said, when you see comics or other items listed in our database that seemingly are never in stock, think again. It may well be that I am restocking those highly desirable items regularly, but that they are being immediately purchased by adroit fans that are using our Want List program to give them a strategic advantage. This same free program is open to you, with never an obligation to buy. If you don't already have a Want List registered with us, why not? And, if you already do have a Want List, have you updated it lately? Remember, I can only do my best in helping you to build your collection if I know in advance what you are seeking. 'Nuff said.

A quick news note that those of you living in Qatar might find interesting is that my new movie: Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope, will be playing at the end of this month during the Dohar Tribeca Film Festival. I can't believe that Morgan Spurlock's folks have already begun to stir up International interest in this new movie, but apparently all of the positive Internet buzz that the film is generating after the Toronto and Austin premieres is convincing folks all around the world that they want to see this charming new movie about the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International. I have to tell you that I am sincerely humbled at how quickly that this film is taking off in popularity. As soon as I know about distribution to other places (including the USA), I will let you know.

My final item for today is a quick reminder that our 65% off GREATDEAL! codeword is still in effect for you through this upcoming weekend on all of our back issue comics, magazines, trade paperbacks, and hardbacks. At long last, however, we are starting to reach the end of our slowest season, so I do new to caution those of you who have been hesitating to place orders with us during the 65% off sale that we will begin slowly backing away from some of these crazy discounts as October progresses. The first thing to go will be the inclusion of trade paperbacks and hardbacks as a part of the 65% off sale, so you might want to place your book orders with us right away, while the GREATDEAL! codeword is still in effect for you (please keep in mind the codeword does not apply to new comics and trades, statues, or supplies). How can you possibly not order books while they are still at 35% of retail?

Happy Collecting!
