Half Price Comics Sale Ending Soon - Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, more

Howdy!

I slept for eight hours last night, without any of the stressful dreams that have plagued me for the last four months. In large measure, this is because most of the high pressure issues that I have been working to resolve since January have now been addressed. I made it through all of the Imperial Court obligations that I took on when I became Prince Royale 42, I successfully moved six million comics and all of our corporate offices, and thanks to a great deal of help from our wonderful Mile High Comics staff, I even made it through the rigors of Free Comic Book Day. It feels great to have made it through!

Speaking of Free Comic Book Day, our events at our three stores this year were remarkably successful. Our attendance was down slightly at each location (we hosted about 1,500 fans per store) but that was anticipated as we intentionally toned down our FCBD marketing this year. In all honesty, we were all too burned out from the Herculean effort required to move out of our 56th Ave. building to have any desire left to put FCBD into hyperdrive. As things turned out, the event was really well organized and relaxed, and we received far more compliments than ever before. We also managed to set a new record for the charitable event we held at Jason St., raising $2,600 to donate to the White Rose Scholarship Fund. It was a very satisfying day.

Now that FCBD is behind us, we are focusing all of our efforts on catching up our backlog of unshipped online orders, and on grading and entering thousands of older comics that have had to be set aside while we were moving. Progress is being made every day, and those of you awaiting orders will soon be receiving notices of shipment. Our backlog will not resolve itself overnight, however, so we all sincerely thank you for your patience.

New Racks

Meanwhile, Will Moulton has been making strides each day on entering a few of those choice older books into our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links, while Pam has begun working down her astounding backlog of 25 pallets of 10-packs. The sheer number of comics and magazines waiting to be entered into our online inventory now exceeds two million individual issues, so getting these items graded and entered is going to be a year-long project. At the end of the day, however, we are going to be able to greatly expand our online offerings for you, and that does not even begin to take into account all of the collections that I intend to begin purchasing at the end of the summer. Once we finally recover from all the craziness brought on by our move, this is going to be an awesome year for you at Mile High Comics!

2 Million Comics

I am going to go away now, as I still have remove to a couple of defunct hot tubs that midnight dumpers left in the parking lot of our 56th Ave. building. They are too big to fit in our dumpster, so I am going to try and whittle them down a little with my chain saw. In the meantime, please don't forget that our 50% off TRUCKLOAD! codeword sale will be ending soon. If you can afford to be patient, you can still purchase almost all of our ten million back issue comics and magazines at half of list price. Only new issues, a few variants, trades, hardcovers, and our CGC-graded comics are excluded from our awesome 50% off TRUCKLOAD! sale.

Happy collecting!
