Howdy!
I want to take just a moment of your time to let you know about some fun and exciting changes that we have been implementing at our Jason St. Mega-Store. First, it might interest you to know that our sales at Jason St. have doubled over the past four weeks. The two primary reasons for this sudden increase in interest are a special new bookstore section, and the addition of new comics to the Mega-Store.
I'll begin by mentioning that our new bookstore area was built from approximately 60 very nice magazine shelves that we just acquired. Comics trade paperbacks and hardbacks generally have particularly nice covers, so being able to display them all face out has already made a startling difference in our book sales.
As regards new comics, we have the earliest opening time at Jason St. (8 AM) of any comics shop in the Denver region. With that early opening time in mind, Randy pointed out to me that more than a few of our regulars were requesting that they be able to pick up their weekly new comics on their way to work. Randy proved to be absolutely correct, as our new comics area has instantly become one of the most popular areas of the Mega-Store.
While I was initially slow to come around, once I did agree to carry new comics in Jason St., I had Pam and Lisa from our online back issue division select 3-5 copies each of many of the most popular comics published over the last twelve months, for a special "recent back issues" area within Jason St. That area is still being filled, but as of yesterday we were already able to offer more than 1,000 recent back issues in Jason St., most at only $1 over cover price. Suffice it to say, this is yet another section of the store that has proven to be instantly popular...
I am trying to be brief today, so I will close today's newsletter with a couple more quick updates.
1) We are continuing to expand our back issue comics selection at Jason St. very rapidly, with yet another 1,000 Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics having arrived this week.
2) Randy has been building our Wednesday night Magic tournament up very rapidly, with more than ten players now showing up nearly every Wednesday evening. Call Randy at (303) 477-0042 for information about how you can participate.
3) Finally, I have a tentative agreement in place to buy 60 more (!) magazine and book fixtures, which we should begin picking up in about two weeks. Even more wonderful changes are coming!
All of the above having been said, if you have not been to Jason St. for a few weeks, you really do need to stop by again and see all of our great new displays. We are working hard every day to make the Mega-Store both bigger, and better, for you.
