Amazing Spider-Man #1 Mile High Comics Variant Edition Howdy! As I suspected, the 800+ Marvel Silver Age comics that Pam added to our New-In-Stock link on Friday sold very well over the weekend. More than half of those Marvel comics published between 1961 and 1969 are still available, but they are selling briskly. With our prices on darn near all of our back issues now at half of what they were in mid-February, and our 50% off SWEETHEART codeword still in effect, older comics now seldom last long in our listings... While last week's collection has already been somewhat depleted, even more great comics are arriving in Denver today. Prior to my taking some personal time to attend this weekend's Night of a Thousand Gowns charity banquet in New York City, I first spent eight days purchasing nearly a dozen comics collections in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New Jersey. The 100,000+ back issues from those a collections were loaded into a semi-trailer on Friday, and should be arriving in Denver today. Amazing Spider-Man #1 Mile High I only have two other news items for you today. First, our Mile High Comics exclusive for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 is continuing to set records for the most number of copies ordered prior to sale. While this landmark issue featuring the return of Peter Parker to the Spider-Man myths is not releasing until the end of the month, the fact that Peter's brief cameo appearance at the end of SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #30 caused such a frenzy on eBay is alerting everyone to the fact that this issue is going to be extremely collectible. Our print run for our exclusive variant is less than half of the Platinum edition of SPIDER-MAN (1990) #1, which today sells easily in the $150-$200 range. Night of a Thousand Gowns This is my second time attending Night of a Thousand Gowns as a representative of the Denver Court. Hosted by the Imperial Court of New York, Night of a Thousand Gowns raises upwards of one million dollars each year for charity. One of our two recipients this year was God's Love We Deliver, an organization with 8,000 volunteers in the New York area that brings meals to the terminally ill.
