It may seem unnecessary for me to mention this fact, but the reality is that there is still a recession taking place, and smaller family-owned businesses have been especially hard hit during this economic contraction. Thanks to your support, and careful budgeting, we have seen our own financial position improve significantly over this time last year, but we definitely still need your help. Speaking of our retail stores, we had a successful Open House at our new 25,000 square foot Jason St. Mega-Store this past Saturday. We earned almost as much on Saturday without a major comics guest, as we did previously with their kind help. What made me even happier was the feedback that I received from one of our long-time Colorado patrons. He told me that he had attended each of our Jason St. sales, and he just could not believe all the progress that we had made since our first Jason St. event, way back in October. It is really nice to know that our hard work is being appreciated... Avengers Assemble #1 Mile High (click on image for larger view) Moving on to news related to our online sales, we gave way another significant number of our free giveaway comics over this past weekend, including all the remaining copies of the variant edition of DANGER GIRL. We do still have a few copies left of the Mile High Comics variant of AVENGERS ASSEMBLE #1, but that promotion will definitely need to end on Wednesday morning, at 11 AM. In case you missed the original offer, you can obtain a free copy of our AVENGERS ASSEMBLE #1 exclusive variant edition entirely for free simply by placing a minimum $20 order with us, and then asking for your free copy in the "notes" section of our online order form. As an aside, one of the reasons that we participated in the AVENGERS ASSEMBLE #1 Variant program was because we all believe that the new AVENGERS movie, and the upcoming AVENGERS VS X-MEN crossover series, are going to vastly increase demand for all comics related to the film. When you think about it, that is darn near the entire Marvel Comics line-up of titles, both past and present. It is only six weeks until those two major events occur, so be prepared! If you haven't already filled in the missing issues in your collections of AVENGERS, HULK, IRON MAN, THOR, HAWKEYE, CAPTAIN AMERICA, and BLACK WIDOW, you should do so immediately. Nick Fury also is key to the film, so all of his back issue titles (including STRANGE TALES, S.H.I.E.L.D., and SGT. FURY) should also experience increased demand. Increased demand usually leads to increased prices, so filling in your collections ahead of the release of the movie only makes good sense... So you know, I worked by myself all afternoon yesterday in the vast storage area of the Jason St. warehouse, specifically seeking more back issues to offer you related to AVENGERS titles.
