Special Golden Age and Silver Age Comics Sale at Jason St. - This Weekend Only Howdy! Savage Wolverine #1 Mile High Variant I was in a bit of a quandary when contemplating writing to you today. Typically, my Thursday newsletter is geared toward highlighting local events at our four Mile High Comics retail stores during the upcoming weekend. This particular weekend has quite a few distractions on tap, however, so I came to realization that I was going to have to innovate a bit more than usual. The good news is that I can offer you an exceptional incentive to visit our three shops that carry new comics (Lakewood, Colorado Blvd, and Littleton). Releasing next Wednesday will be our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1. Not only is the print run on this variant edition quite low, but it also features a stunning cover by J.Scott Campbell, and lush interiors by Frank Cho. The sum of all of these positive factors have led to this variant of WOLVERINE #1 into being our best-selling Mile High Comics exclusive, ever, with over 10% of the print run having sold just during the past week! We do still have copies available for you to advance order in all of our stores for just $6 per copy, however, which is just barely above the cover price of the regular edition. The reason this news is so important to you is that all of our variants have been exploding in value as of late. Worldwide demand for our very limited Mile High Comics AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #666 edition, for example, has already forced our retail price on that one issue scarce variant to rise to $75 per copy. We are down to our last 50 copies, so a $100 asking price is not out of the question on that scarce Spider-Man variant, very soon. That being the case, your being able to still pre-order our Wolverine variant for only $6 per copy at any of our stores, is really quite an incredible bargain. Please do be aware, however, that our actual retail price (once the variant is actually released next Wednesday...) will start on Wednesday morning at $9.95, and may rise quickly if sales continue at their present pace. We pre-sold another 3% of the entire print run overnight, so the word about the scarcity of our variant edition is really getting around. Suffice it to say, I highly recommend that you pre-order your copy of SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 from one of our stores right away! While our Jason St. Mega-Store does not offer new comics, you should also consider stopping by that store during this weekend to visit with me. Beginning at noon on Saturday, I am going to offer fans at Jason St. a chance to flip through ten boxes containing about 3,000 completely random Golden Age, Silver Age, and Bronze Age comics that I just picked up in the Dallas area last weekend. Many have ten cent or twelve cent cover prices.These comics have not yet been sorted or graded, so these boxes are going to be a soup-to nuts mixture of older comics titles from Marvel, DC, Charlton, Harvey, Archie, Dell, Gold Key, and many more 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's comics publishers. The way that my special 2-day "Pick of the Litter" comics sale is going to work is that I am going to let you have first pick (before our 120,000 website clients...) of the very best older comics from Dallas. We will then grade and price your selections for you right on the spot. Prices will be set at exactly the same rates as normal, with a 50% discount then applied for you. In effect, you will be paying exactly the same on these comics as if they were in our bins, but the big difference is that this sale provides you with the opportunity to see some very scarce older issues that are seldom available for sale in Colorado, because they are typically purchased within minutes of posting to our website. The hours for my "Pick of the Litter" sale will be noon - 5:00 PM on both Saturday, and Sunday, only at our Jason St. Mega-Store. I will close today's newsletter with a couple of summary notes. First any comics not sold from the Dallas collections over the weekend, will be sent back to our main warehouse on Monday morning. They will then be graded and added to our website inventory. Second, aside from the nice condition older comics that I will be offering during my "Pick of the Litter" sale, I also be offering you a chance to flip through a full magazine box of coverless and incomplete 1940's and 1950's comics, with several 1940's DC issues among the mix.
