New MILEHIGH2 Codeword - Thousands of Silver Age and Bronze Age Comics Rediscovered
Howdy!
I spent this entire past weekend working, first on our benefit Star Wars
auction for the homeless served by the
Denver Rescue Mission,
and then
sorting our extra
back issues
while looking for 40,000 unneeded comics to
complete a bulk deal. Our auction on Saturday was a very pleasant success,
with STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS actors
J. Trent Adams
and
DC Barnes
enchanting our crowd with their stories of filming at London's Pinewood
Studios. After they finished speaking, our sale of the Star Wars toys and
collectibles raised $1,072.00 in donations for the homeless, which I think
is a very reasonable outcome for an event that we only conceptualized last
Tuesday.
My search for bulk overstock comics yesterday (Sunday) was not nearly as
successful. For starters, the huge pallet that I perused in our main warehouse
that was labeled "unsorted Independents" (which I thought contained only
unwanted B&W titles) was actually comprised almost entirely of many thousands
of pre-1982
Archie,
Harvey,
Charlton,
Whitman, and
Atlas/Seaboard
comics.
These wonderful
Silver Age
and
Bronze Age
comics came to us as a part of the
legendary
"Mile High II" collection,
which I purchased 30 years ago, in 1985.
At some unknown point in time, this pallet of treasures was mislabeled, and
put into long term storage in the back of our 56th Ave. headquarters, completely
at the top of a section of 15' high pallet racking. Suffice it to say,
relocating an entire pallet of "lost"
Silver Age
and
Bronze Age
comics yesterday
made for a great day!
Now that I have rediscovered these thousands of lost
Silver Age
and
Bronze Age
treasures, those of you who collect older
Archie,
Harvey,
Charlton,
Whitman, and
Atlas/Seaboard
comics are in for a treat. Starting later this week, we will
be offering you the opportunity to purchase a small selection these very scarce
back issues,
many of which are in very high grades. Our progress in making these
wonderful
Mile High II
comics available to you is going to need to move slowly,
however, as we have most of the members of our inventory team temporarily reassigned
to helping work down our huge backlog orders of Christmas orders. Until we have
the Christmas order backlog completely eliminated, we will only be able to offer
you small increments of those
Mile High II
titles in any given newsletter. Your wait
will be amply rewarded, however, as this is the last remaining supply of most of
these awesome older comics!
All of the above having been said, I am initiating a new 40% off MILEHIGH2 Codeword
today on all of our
back issue comics and magazines.
This new codeword will apply to
all of yesterday's rediscovered
Archie,
Harvey,
Charlton,
Whitman, and
Atlas/Seaboard
comics, as only new issues, a few variants, and our CGC-graded titles are excluded
from my new 40% MILEHIGH2 codeword sale. Please do be aware, however, that any
orders we receive this week cannot be shipped for about two weeks, as we first have
to work down our existing backlog. Your patience and understanding is very much
appreciated!

In other news, I did want to quickly mention that this is the last week for you to
be able to purchase our Mile High Comics
STAR WARS
and
DEADPOOL
variants at their
current prices. As I first stated on Friday, we are about to go back to press on our
Mega-Store poster insert, which means that we have to lock in most of our
Mile High Comics exclusive variants
prices for the next six months. With ALL the Marvel
STAR WARS
titles selling
like crazy at the moment, and the DEADPOOL movie less than seven weeks away, we
expect our remaining supplies of many of those highly popular issues to diminish
rapidly.
STAR WARS (2015) #14 MILE HIGH COVER
DARTH VADER (2015) #15 MILE HIGH COVER
My final item for today is reminder that the last two installments of the
VADER DOWN crossover series,
STAR WARS (2015) #14
and
DARTH VADER (2015) #15
are
both scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. As with our first four exclusive
Mile High Comics variants
of this excellent
STAR WARS
crossover series, both have
charming covers by fan-favorite artist, Katie Cook. If you would like to own a
complete set of all six of our
Katie Cook VADER DOWN variants,
it can still be
yours this week for only $139.70. Purchase a complete set by Friday's deadline,
and we will include a free copy of
STAR WARS (2015) #1 QUESADA with your order.
