AUTHORITY: REVOLUTION (DC WILDSTORM) (2004) #9 - Plot Synopsis

Description

Authority: Revolution (2004) #9
“The Eternal Return Part 9: Life’s Illusions” is written by Ed Brubaker with art by Dustin Nguyen and Richard Friend. Henry Bendix, the Weatherman, once led the Authority as it sought to carry out its United Nations charter of ensuring peace and tranquility around the globe. But the ultra-right wing Bendix knew all along that his philosophy would inevitably lead to a clash with his more liberal-minded colleagues. Planning for that day, the mastermind has the Authority’s headquarters bugged and has even worked to ensure their ranks don’t get any more powerful than they are.

Having killed and then captured the essence of Jeroen Thornedike, Earth’s shaman protector, Bendix moved quickly again to neutralize his replacement. Within hours of the mantle of Earth’s mystical protector moving to a new host, the Weatherman was there to overpower and imprison the new Doctor. Pursuing his agenda of extreme corporatism and fascism, Bendix has reached tentacles into the governments and large financial institutions that control the world’s commodities and security forces all in the aim of creating a “finer world.” And the newly reincarnated Rose Tattoo, the spirit of murder, at his side, it appears there’s about to be a new world order. That is, until the newest member of the Authority, Jenny Quantum makes an unexpected move.
