ANGEL: AFTER THE FALL (IDW) (2007) #7 INC A - Plot Synopsis

Angel: After the Fall (2007) #7
Executive Producer Joss Whedon and writer Brian Lynch continue to explore the astonishing events that followed "Not Fade Away," the last episode of the Angel TV series. Wolfram & Hart unleashed the forces of Hell on Los Angeles and suddenly Angel Investigations was the only thing standing between the citizens of L.A. and a whole host of demons, dragons and devils. For Connor, Angel's son, who has just remembered his true birthright, the menace takes the form of a gang of warrior vampires straight out of "300."

Luckily, Connor runs into someone from Angel's past who has had some experience dealing with the undead. Ex-LAPD Detective Kate Lockley has never given up on her vow "To Protect and Serve" and so now runs a one-woman campaign against the horde of monsters now occupying the City of Angels. Kate and Connor become good friends quickly, never realizing what they have in common. Meanwhile, Wolfram & Hart continue to play mind games with Wesley's ghost, teasing him with images of Fred Burkle (as she was before being possessed by Illyria) in order to win his loyalty and ensure he keeps an eye on Angel for them. But Wesley's not that načve; he didn't just rise from the dead yesterday! Art by Tim Kane, Nick Runge and Stephen Mooney.
