Angel: After the Fall (2007) #17
Plotted by Joss Whedon and Brian Lynch with words by Lynch and art by Franco Urru. Having made an end-run around Wolfram & Hart's best-laid plans for getting him to destroy humanity, Angel has managed to turn the clock back to the time just after the TV series ended. But this time, instead of leaving Gunn to the tender mercies of a vampire gang while he goes off to fight demons, Angel rescues his friend and gets him to a hospital, free of neck wounds.
This act makes all the difference in the destinies of Angel, Spike, Illyria, Gwen, Connor and of course, Gunn. But Fred and Wesley are still dead and L.A. is still reeling from the hellish experience of Wolfram & Hart's last stand. Things are a bit different now for Angel as well as his fame grows exponentially until everyone in L.A. knows who he is and just what he's done for them. And for Spike, he's teamed up with Gunn's old pal George, the telepathic goldfish, to try to figure out who's the next Big Bad coming around the corner.
