PHANTOM STRANGER (1969) (#1-42) #21 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Phantom Stranger (1969) #21
"The Resurrection of Johnny Glory" is written by Len Wein and drawn by Jim Aparo and Joe Orlando. DC's top mystery man once again clashes with the Dark Circle and its hirelings, the Supernatural Assassin Service. Like Gandhi before him, Chandu Gamal preaches peace and enlightenment and has traveled from his small mid-Eastern country to the U.S. to spread his message of hope. But the Dark Circle has taken offense at Gamal's attempts to rid his country of its superstitious ways and tasks the Supernatural Assassin Service to eliminate the man of peace.

To that end, the Service's leader Cerebus resurrects a recently executed killer named Johnny Glory who is long on charisma but short on morals. Glory charms Gamal's lovely daughter Indira and uses her as a lure to get Gamal out in the open. But the Phantom Stranger has vowed to keep Gamal alive and tracks the killer back to his lair at Massacre Mountain. When the Stranger shows Glory just what Cerebus has in mind for him when he finishes his grim task, the killer turns on his resurrector! Then, don't miss Dr. 13, the Ghost Breaker, face off against the "Woman of Stone" (written by Wein and drawn by Tony deZuniga).
