MOON KNIGHT (1980) (#1-38) (MARVEL) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Moon Knight (1980) #1
Premiere issue! Origin of Moon Knight. Written by Doug Moench and drawn by Bill Sienkiewicz and Bill and Franki S. The violent events that led to the creation of the spectral avenger known as Moon Knight are not for the faint of heart. A mercenary in the Sudan, Marc Spector worked for the genocidal madman known as Bushmaster. Through battle after battle, Spector never questioned his commander's orders as long as a paycheck was waiting for him after the bullets stopped flying.

But after Spector saves Bushmaster's life from a knife wielded by a desperate archeologist, he begins to question just what this life is leading him to. Bushmaster mercilessly slays his attacker and moves to do the same to his daughter. Spector betrays his employer and saves the girl's life but is sentenced to death himself in the burning sands of the desert. In the lost temple of Knoshu, Spector "dies" and is reborn as Moon Knight, a seeker of justice and tool of divine law! His first target is Bushmaster himself!
