Signed Todd McFarlane Prints - Half Price Comics Sale
Howdy!
After a surprise snow storm buffeted Denver yesterday morning, we awoke today to a beautiful
winter vista of dazzling white. While our driving adventures were difficult yesterday due
to icy and snowpacked roads, our unexpected snow did have the delightful benefit of helping
everyone in this area to get into the holiday spirit. I can guarantee you that my own last-minute
shopping gene has been activated, which means that I am going to be scrambling over the
next couple of days to locate holiday gifts for all my loved ones.

One gift package that I will be shipping today contains a set of our
STAR WARS: PRINCESS LEIA #1-#5
for the new beau of our youngest daughter, Elsbeth. She recently moved
to Melbourne, Australia, and wouldn't you just know that her new fella
is a comics fan! Since fewer than 20 copies of our PRINCESS LEIA set
were sent to Australia, I figure that set is a pretty awesome Christmas
present for her to give James. The odds that anyone else in his circle
of friends owns a set of our rare
Star Wars
variants, is pretty darn low...

Speaking of Star Wars, I about fell out of my chair when I read a glowing
review of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS in today's NEW YORK TIMES. The
Times is notorious for not liking most popular movies, so their endorsement
was quite a surprise. I also checked IMDB, which had a 91% positive rating,
and ROTTEN TOMATOES, which had a 97% positive. I have never in my life
seen any film score that high on ROTTEN TOMATOES!
With the movie turning out to be a success, it seems likely that our decision
to invest heavily in both publishing our own
STAR WARS (2015) variant editions,
and also purchasing substantial quantities of all of the standard editions,
is going to prove to have been prescient. With four more feature Star Wars
films scheduled to be released over the next 48 months, the new Star Wars wave
has clearly just begun. My only regret is that we could only afford to print
3,000 copies on most of our exclusive Mile High Comics Star Wars variants.
Because our print runs need to be so limited, we are down to only a few hundred
copies remaining on some of our earlier
STAR WARS (2015) issues. Sigh...
In other news, our annual 50% off HOLIDAY! codeword sale is continuing to prove
to be quite popular. We have been receiving a slew of exceptionally large orders
over the past couple of days from fans all around the world who are purchasing
large runs of individual comics titles. I guess that only makes sense, as the best
time to fill in your collection from our
website is when almost all of our comics
and books are on sale for half price. It is actually a bit shocking to me just
how many of our comics listed on our website end up being priced at a net $1, or
less, when the HOLIDAY! codeword discount is applied.
So you know, no codeword is needed to receive our 40%-50% off discounts on our
huge selection of
graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and comics hardback collections.
All of our steeply discounted book prices are posted for you right on our
website.
As regards our comics, all ten million of our
Golden Age,
Silver Age comics,
Bronze Age,
and Modern Age Comics are on sale for you right now at half price when you type
"HOLIDAY!" into the Discount Codeword line on our order form. This exceptionally
beneficial codeword sale includes almost all of our
Marvel,
DC,
Dark Horse,
Image,
IDW,
and other comics publisher titles. Only new issues, a few variants, and our
CGC-graded issues are excluded from this awesome annual sales event. Enjoy!
COMIC BOOK LEGAL DEFENSE FUND IMAGE PRINT
I will close today's newsletter with a special offer for you on a rare and
beautiful
Image Comics signed and numbered print
that was created as a fundraiser
for the
Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
This print was limited to only 500 signed
copies, each being embellished with original autographs by Image Comics founders
Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Jim Valentino, and Marc Silvestri. We made a
substantial contribution to the CBLDF about ten years ago, and thus ended up
with a small stack of these prints. In the spirit of the holiday season I decided
to offer these cool prints to you today for only $20 each, with a limit of two
per person, please. An autograph by just Todd McFarlane typically retails for
more than $20, so this print is an exceptionally good deal, especially if you
are looking for an awesome and unique last-minute Christmas present. Please
accept this offer with our sincere thanks for your continuing support of
Mile High Comics.
Happy collecting!

President - Mile High Comics, Inc.

P.S. Here is a cool
link
that will take you directly to a landing page which
lists for sale most of the early editions of Marvel's
STAR WARS (2015) that
we currently have in stock. As you may recall, I have been predicting for
over a year that the worldwide demand for all Star Wars products would
explode if the movie was well-received. Given that the movie now looks to
be an even bigger hit than we had hoped, I am now firmly of the opinion
that nearly all of the copies of the early
STAR WARS (2015) issues are going
to end up in private hands very quickly. Most comics remain in private
collections for at least 10-15 years, so do not be surprised if all of these
issues become quite scarce, and jump dramatically in price, over the next
couple of months. There are upwards of one billion new Star Wars fans about
to enter the market..
