Local News - Auction Saturday - 1,000 Comics, Toys, Collectibles
Howdy!
Over this past year, we have held about a dozen
no-minimum-bid comics and toy auctions
at our Jason St. Mega-Store.
Based on my personal observations as our auctioneer, I can
assure you that everyone who has participated in our auctions has scored at least one
awesome deal, with each of our auction regulars racking up dozens of amazing bargains.
Simply put, there is no better way to obtain rock bottom prices on rare comics, toys,
and collectibles than to attend one of our
no-minimum-bid auctions.
All of the above having been said, I want to let you know that this Saturday's
auction
(beginning at 11:30 AM) will feature a broader diversity of great items
than any auction that we have ever hosted. This expansion in the depth and breath
of the number of items that we are offering in Saturday's auction is a direct result
of our decision to sell our smaller 56th Ave. building, and to merge our online business
into
Jason St.
While Jason St. has quite a bit of underutilized space, we do have over
six million comics and magazines stored in 56th Ave. Suffice to say, the shelves holding
those comics and magazines take up a huge amount of space!
Squeezing those millions of comics and magazines into our
Jason St. Mega-Store can
certainly be accomplished, but at the same time it also behooves us to minimize the
space we will need by liquidating some of the thousands of other collectibles we've
accumulated during our 29 years in the 56th Ave. building. If you look at the photos
at the end of this newsletter, you will see a small sampling of the cool collectibles
that we will be auctioning. Even more auction item photos are posted to our
Facebook page.
All told, we will have over 1,000! collectibles that will go up for
auction on Saturday morning. In a nutshell, these liquidations of our 56th Ave.
collectibles are a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to add great items into
your collection, for a fraction of their market value.
I will close today's newsletter with another plea for contributions of warm clothing
(new or used), boots, and personal toiletries for the young people being helped by
Urban Peak.
A representative from Urban Peak will be coming to
our auction on
Saturday, and I would love to be able to give them a van load of warm clothes to help
the kids who have nowhere to go but to live on Denver's streets. A bitter cold front
is projected to hit Denver on Friday night, so your contribution of a used coat or
sweater just might help to keep a teen from freezing on Saturday night. Contributions
of comics, toys and collectibles for the auction would also be graciously accepted.
I will auction those contributed items on the spot, with those funds being donated
to Urban Peak.
Happy collecting!
