Free 1:50 Alex Ross STAR WARS #1 Variant Howdy! We had a stroke of luck transpire for us this week, and I am delighted to be able to pass on some of that good fortune to you. To explain, I am very much of the belief that the new Marvel Comics STAR WARS (2015) series is just the beginning of a brand new comics company that will eventually grow into a comics company that rivals in size all of the titles that comprise the entire Marvel Comics superhero mythos. My original theory in this regard have already been validated, as every single STAR WARS title released by Marvel to this point has sold in excess of 100,000 copies, with several selling more than 250,000 copies. Simply put, all it will take for sales of STAR WARS comics to surge ahead of the Marvel Universe is a hit film, which is precisely what we expect will be released in just 12 days. All of the above having been said, our head new comics buyer, Will Moulton, has been on the prowl of late for copies of some of the scarce early issues of STAR WARS. His efforts paid off magnificently on Wednesday afternoon, when he located for us a long-lost stash of the ultra-scarce STAR WARS #1, Alex Ross variant! STAR WARS (2015) #1 1:50 ROSS COVER To explain why the Alex Ross variant is such a big deal, you have to begin with the fact that comics retailers had to purchase 50 copies! of the regular STAR WARS (2015) #1 in order to receive the right to purchase a single copy of the Alex Ross variant. We obviously met that original criteria many times over, but our entire stock of Alex Ross variants still sold out by mid-summer, despite our having priced them at $75 each. One look at the cover explains why this happened, however, as Alex did a magnificent job of recreating the iconic Al Williamson/Howard Chaykin cover of STAR WARS (1977) #1. Where I am going with this discussion is that the windfall that Will Moulton was able to obtain is going to allow us to offer you a copy of this awesome Alex Ross variant for only $49.95.
