40% Off LABORDAY Comics Sale - DEADPOOL, X-MEN, TMNT, NEW MUTANTS
Howdy!
Comic book sales on our website blew up overnight, as we received a record number
of orders from patrons utilizing our annual 40% Off LABORDAY codeword discount.
Given that we already radically lowered a great many of our base prices last April,
that additional 40% savings drops the net cost on millions of comics that we offer
to under $2 (!) each. We can't afford do this all the time, but during the next five
days everyone who shops with us is going to be receiving incredible bargains on
great comics.
DEADPOOL (1994) #1
Speaking of great comics, Will and Pam both bought excellent private collections
yesterday morning. They worked all afternoon to sort and grade the better issues from
those new acquisitions so that we could offer them to you while the 40% off LABORDAY
sale is in effect. Check out today's
Premium New-In-Stock
link, and the overall
New-In-Stock
links, and you will see that we are offering a slew of comics today that
have been out of stock for quite some time, including runs of
DEADPOOL,
TEENAGE MUTANT TURTLES,
X-MEN, and
NEW MUTANTS
(just to name a few...). In almost every instance,
however, we only have one copy of each key issue in stock, so I urge you to place an
order with us right away if you see an item that is critical for your collection.
STUDIO at $295 each
In other news, the three Frank Frazetta
LORD OF THE RINGS portfolios that I offered in
Wednesday's newsletter all sold, as did one of the two unopened copies of the ultra-rare
THE STUDIO book. These items all came from the estate of Steven J. Allen, the co-founder
of the legendary MIDDLE EARTH publishing company of the mid-1970's. Items remaining
from our first offering from Steve's estate also include a
Mike Ploog portfolio, another
by
Berni Wrightson, and
Jim Fitzpatrick. If these portfolios do not sell by Tuesday,
we will remove them from our online inventory, and put them in the high security
cases at our
Jason St. Mega.
EDGAR ALLEN POE Portfolio #480/2,000 Signed by Berni Wrightson $395
Before I leave the the topic of MIDDLE EARTH, I want to offer you a chance at another 2
other Frank Frazetta portfolios. Tucked in with Steve Allen's
LORD OF THE RINGS
portfolios
were copies of
WOMEN OF THE AGES and
KUBLA KAHN portfolios. They are all signed and
numbered by Frazetta, and incredibly hard to get. I have not had even a single copy of
the
WOMEN OF THE AGES
or the
KUBLA KAHN
portfolio for sale in over 20 years. I am pricing
each portfolio for this weekend (only!) at $495. If they don't sell, I am putting a copy
of each in my own collection. Heaven only knows when I will see them again...

P.S. If you visit the LORD OF THE RINGS
portfolio listing on our website you will see that we
have additional copies available that have later numbers. A couple with lower numbers are
priced at $595, while the rest are at $495. These copies are the last of Steve's stash from
1976...
