Marvel's New Era Begins Hello from the Highest Point in Comic Fandom (& I'm talking above sea level) - This is your fearless Manager of the NICE Subscription Service, Greg VanEvery, bringing you a new dose of upcoming items from Previews. Amazing Spider-Man #1 October is setting up to be a huge month for Marvel. Secret Wars will be winding down and the new #1 issues will be starting. Some of the big heroes like Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen and Deadpool will be getting new series as well as great teams like New Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and the Extraordinary X-Men. There will also be some new books with characters that have not had series before or have been out of the limelight for a while. Doctor Strange will have a new title as the Marvel movie begins production and a new Blade emerges in a new series. Titles like Contest of Champions, Karnak, and Howling Commandos of SHIELD look interesting as almost forgotten characters get their shot in new titles. Secret Wars will also be collected in the Secret Wars Hardcover in October. Of course, my eyes will be on the new Chewbacca mini-series as Star Wars continues to be an irresistible Force at Marvel as the new movie, Force Awakens nears it's release. Guardians of the Galaxy #1 A quick note about the upcoming titles, if you are down for the previous series, your subscription will continue to the new series. As an example, if you were down for Amazing Spider-Man as an on-going title, you will automatically receive the new Amazing Spider-Man title. As always, if you need to make sure you are down for a certain title, you can always call or e-mail us & we will check on it for you. With the number of #1 issues coming out from Marvel in the next couple of months, we are trying to make things as uncomplicated as we can. If there are any of the titles you do not want to get, you will have to let us know so we do not send you a book you do not want. Just kidding! DC is bringing back the weekly series with an untold story of Batman and Dick Grayson's Robin in Batman & Robin Eternal. Superman: Lois & Clark, Telos, and the Titans Hunt titles look very cool as we continue to deal with the ramifications of Convergence. For those wanting something with less superheroes, Vertigo is ramping things up with 4 new titles, Twilight Children, Survivors Club, Clean Room, and Art Ops. IDW has a new Back to the Future title coming out while Image has the anti-cute book of the month in Skottie Young's I Hate Fairyland. Topcow brings Witchblade to an end with issue #185 and a special Witchblade 20th Anniversary Hardcover. Grumpy Cat #1 Dynamite Entertainment brings the Internet sensation, Grumpy Cat to comics while Titan Comics has a new series based on the hit video game, Assassin's Creed. Also from Titan, the Eighth Doctor joins the legion of Doctor Who comics and Heroes: Vengeance adds to the canon of the Heroes TV series and leads into the new Heroes Reborn show on NBC. Of course, there are many other items I simply do not have room to talk about but I'm sure everyone will find something to peak their interests this month. Secret Wars #6 Mile High With the new #1's from Marvel, we are continuing our Mile High Comics Variant covers to 2 of the biggest titles. We are doing special covers to Amazing Spider-Man #1 and Deadpool #1 with cover art and more information later. These 2 characters will be huge in upcoming projects like the Captain America Civil War movie and Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds so these will be big sellers for us so make sure you get your copies reserved.
