Comics and Toy Auction this Saturday Item Photos Included Howdy! This coming Saturday we will be hosting an incredible No-Minimum-Bid comics and toy auction at our Jason St. Mega-Store, 4600 Jason St. The auction will begin at 11:30 AM, and should run about two hours. Over 500 hundred items will be included in this auction, including rare Underground Comix, hundreds of toys and action figures, statues, original art, and much more. Auction - Undergrounds As an aside, this auction will include the nicest selection of Silver Age (1961-1975) Marvel and DC comics that we have offered for sale in quite some time. Some of these Silver Age issues are ours, while others belong to long-time Mile High Comics patron, Stu Rosen. Stu's sister recently became ill, so we are auctioning a few choice items from his collection to help defray her medical expenses. I have a feeling that everyone who collects older comics will be very happy if they attend Saturday's auction! Auction Lot 12 In other news, our 2nd Mile High Comics Texas Hold'em Benefit Poker Tournament will be held a week from Saturday, August 1st, at our Jason St. Mega-Store. The poker tournament begins at 11 AM, and ends at approximately 2:30 PM. We had sixty players last time, but the game progressed very quickly, because we raise the blinds every 15 minutes. Buy-In for the game is $25, with the funds benefitting Urban Peak, an organization which helps homeless teens. Auction Lot 28 My final item for today is a quick mention that we have been enhancing our traveling convention booth today, adding another 1,400 comics into our already amazing selection of 94,000 carefully selected back issues. Our goal is to keep adding at least that many comics into our selection each week, until the booth leaves for the Salt Lake City Comic-Con on September 23rd. Auction Lot 4 What this means for you is an unprecedented opportunity to shop for great back issues published from 1980-present. Simply put, because we only include a single copy of each issue in the convention stock, it actually has a broader stock than even our awe-inspiring "Ocean of Comics..."
