60% Off Codeword Ends Tuesday! Howdy! Today's newsletter is mostly about codewords and weddings. I'll begin by mentioning that our 60% off NEALADAMS! codeword will be ending tomorrow (Tuesday), at noon. If you should happen to miss that deadline for placing your order with us you need not despair, as our annual 50% off JULY4th codeword sale will then commence at noon on Tuesday, and run through the July 4th holiday. Both codeword sales apply to all eight million of our back issue comics and magazines, but not to books, non-comics items, CGC -graded comics, and brand new issues published within the last twelve months. While our 250,000+ trade paperbacks and hardbacks are not directly included in the codeword sales, I did want to mention that we have discounted almost all of our books for you directly on our website. All of our backlist comics trade paperbacks and graphic novels are available to you right now at a full 50% off, while all of our backlist hardbacks are discounted for you at a full 40% off. This very generous discounting of our books should make reaching our free shipping thresholds of $30 for domestic orders, and $60 for International orders, quite a bit easier for you to achieve. Please do bear in mind, however, that we do still have to charge small per book shipping surcharges on orders containing books, as they are so heavy, and consequently cost so much to ship. Moving on to other news, I did want to make a very quick mention of the fact that all of our retail stores will be open from10 AM -3 PM on the July 4th holiday, including our Jason St. Mega-Store. We will be having very exciting steep discount sales on the holiday on all of our books, back issue comics, and toys. More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the 4th... Will and Kathy Wedding My final news notes for the day are about weddings. After not having attended a wedding in over 20 years, I attended two on the same day! I want to begin by congratulating our Mile High Comics Operations Vice President, William Murakami, on his Saturday wedding to his wonderful bride, Kathy Gayle Lively. Their ceremony was held in the exceptionally beautiful Simpson United Metodist Church in Arvada, Colorado. All of us here at Mile High Comics are delighted that William and Kathy found each other, as they seem perfectly matched for each other! The second wedding that I attended on Saturday was for my friends Jim Babb and Simon Wittkopp. While the Colorado legislature failed to pass the Civil Unions act this year, Jim and Simon had already reserved their date, so they went ahead and exchanged their vows anyway at the Highlands Lutheran Church. After seeing the depth of joy and love that these two young men have expressed for each other, I sincerely hope that next year's legislative session will allow them to validate their union. Jim and Simon wedding That's it for today. I now need to hustle over to Jason St., in order to help prepare for our annual pilgrimage to the San Diego Comic-Con. Our 20,000 lbs of comics and books for the convention are almost ready to go, but we do still need to finish the last of our pricing, and then pack up all the boxes. San Diego is unusually early this year (July 11-14) so we only have seven working days left before our truck has to leave for the convention... Happy Collecting!
