New Codeword Sale Begins Today Five Days Only
Howdy!
Three months ago, I slashed all of the
back issue comics and magazine
prices on our website by 50%-60% off. At the time that I initiated that extremely radical change, I also put our long-standing discount codewords program into hiatus. The net effect of my pricing change has been very positive, as we have seen a significant uptick in orders, especially from new customers.
What I would like to do today is to offer those of you who have supported us for many years a 20% off codeword sale as a "Thank You!" for your continuing support of our efforts. Because I really do want to limit the benefits of this new SANDIEGO codeword to only our most loyal customers, however, it will be in effect for only 5 days, ending next Monday, at noon. Please do enjoy this additional 20% discount benefit, with our sincere thanks.
(as per usual, our new codeword sale applies to all ten million of our back issue comics and magazines, but not to books, new comics, a few variants, and our CGC-graded issues)
In other news, our new codeword is called SANDIEGO because preparing for that huge annual convention is our entire focus right now. We have about a dozen of our staff members sorting, grading, and pricing choice back issue comics today for our traveling convention exhibit. We sorted about 30,000 comics which had titles beginning with the letter "A" last week, and finished all 30,000 "B" issues yesterday. In each instance, we needed about 10% of the comics from those sorted groups for our convention stock.
Pam with 50,000 of the comics we've sorted during the pat 30 days!
At this pace, our San Diego exhibit this year will feature our best convention stock in our 46-year history, with over 100,000 choice back issues on display. This inventory will even surpass in diversity and quality the excellent stock that we took to last month's Denver Comic-Con, which helped our sales rise by 60% (!) over 2014. If we can achieve that same level of sales growth in San Diego, then we will convert our small loss at last year's SDCC, into a small gain. That transformation is critical, because if we do not achieve at least some measure of growth at this year's San Diego show, then I simply cannot justify renewing our booth for next year.
Moving on to other news, Will Moulton has been stocking up the new comics area on our website with an excellent array of the
newly-released SECRET WARS (2015) crossover titles.
If you have missed out on any of these titles, we can definitely help you. Not only do we have our own variant editions and all of the regular editions in stock, but we also have an amazingly broad spectrum of other variants and crossover editions. Below are some of the highlights of the SECRET WARS titles that we can offer you right now.
Happy Collecting!
