LOCAL NEWS - Thursday Only 50% Off Sale On Comics, Books, Statues Howdy! It is now only two days until our annual Denver Comic-Con Opening Party! Our party begins this Thursday afternoon at 5 PM at our Jason St. Mega-Store, and will run until at least 9 PM. We have over 25 comics creators who will be at the Mega-Store that evening to sign autographs, as well as a benefit bake sale for the White Rose Scholarship Fund, a wonderful free wrestling demonstration, and a great sale on back issue comics, toys, statues, and books. All Statues and Toys - 50% Off! All T-Shirts and Apparel - 50% Off! While our CGC's and comics already discounted with blue stickers are not included, Thursday evening's sale remains the most generous promotion that we have ever offered at Jason St. Please be aware, however, that these awesome discounts are only available to you for five hours on Thursday evening, exclusively at our Jason St. location. As an aside, our opening night parties have always had a charitable aspect, with our asking for small donations for the White Rose Scholarship Fund. Those donations will take on special meaning this year, as White Rose forms the charitable core of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire, the oldest LGBTQ organization in the state of Colorado. If you would like to show your support for our Denver LGBTQ Community on Thursday evening, a small cash donation to White Rose would help us to make a positive statement. We are also very much in need of baked good donations for the White Rose bake sale. Any help you might be able to provide this awesome local civic group would be most sincerely appreciated. On a related topic, a full-size wrestling ring will be constructed in Jason St. tomorrow afternoon by New Era Wrestling. The amazingly talented professionals from New Era will be providing a completely free wrestling demonstration during our party. It will begin at 7 PM, and should run for a couple of hours. I have attended their Sunday evening paid events at the Buffalo Rose Saloon in Golden, and I can assure you that these guys are insanely entertaining! Kids absolutely go nuts for wrestlers, so be sure to bring your entire family for this free event. NEW ERA PRO WRESTLING I will close with a couple of technical points. First, this year we are going to allow everyone to bring up to 20 comics into the store from their personal collection to be signed by our creator guests. All that we ask is that you create a listing of the comics that you are bringing, so we can check you in, and then check you out as you leave for the evening. No more than 5 comics for the same creator, please. Second, we will be having a free shuttle bus running between our store and the Hyatt, approximately every half hour, from 4:30 PM - 10:30 PM.
