38,000 High Grade Comics
Howdy!

Philadelphia Booth
|
A very quick newsletter today, as Ashley and I are at the WizardWorld Philadelphia show this weekend. We rented two booths in the back of the room, which is definitely not enough space for the 100 short boxes full of high grade comics that we brought.
We had no way of knowing in advance that we would need more room, however, as the comics that we brought to the convention are only a small part of a massive 38,000 comics collection that we purchased in Northern Maryland, just yesterday morning.
Our biggest challenge for the next couple of days is going to be trying to get at least a few of those comics priced and on display, while simultaneously chatting with all the folks who stop by our booth. I am most certainly not complaining, but if you happen by our booth in Philly and we seem a bit disorganized, that's why...

New Collection
|
A couple of quick notes about this huge collections that we just purchased. First it features most comics published since 1974, most in VF and NM. All are bagged and boarded, and in order, which makes them absolutely perfect for creating a core inventory of fantastic back issue comics for in our new Jason St. Mega-Store. This will fill one of the single most pressing requests that we have had at Jason St., which has had many thousands of modern comics on display, but certainly not our most highly desirable modern back issues.
Since none of these comics from this new collection will be included in our online inventory, however, we will have the unusual situation in place where we have some comics very cool comics available in Jason St. which are completely sold out on our website. While inefficient on some levels, this will make visiting Jason St. exceptionally worthwhile for you if you are ever in the Denver area.
While this new collection will be exclusive to Jason St., our truck containing the bulk of the complete Marvel collection that I purchased in New Jersey at the beginning of last month finally arrived in Denver, on Wednesday. Will Moulton and Pam both worked all day yesterday grading Silver Age and Bronze Age issues from that collection, and the following issues are now online for you:

Spidey #129
|
AVENGERS #1-188
CAPTAIN AMERICA #100-241
CONAN #1-108
DAREDEVIL #1-160
FANTASTIC FOUR #41-216
SPIDER-MAN #1-202
WEREWOLF BY NIGHT #1-43
X-MEN #1-127
Many are in NM. Need I say more?
I will close today's newsletter by encouraging those of you planning to attend the Denver Comic-Con to order your tickets RIGHT NOW! Yes, I really did mean to shout. Simply put, I don't want anyone to come to me a week from now complaining about how the Denver convention is totally sold out. As of today, there are still tickets available for all days, but they are down to small percentages left for Saturday, in particular.
Also, if you want to avoid a potentially long wait for tickets on Saturday morning, be sure and attend our Jason St. opening night party of the convention on Thursday evening, June 14th. The convention is going to be offering badge pick-up that evening from 5 PM - 11 PM. The party itself is going to be unbelievably cool, but not having to wait in line for your badge on Saturday morning, will definitely be a great added bonus.
