Half Price Comics Sale Ends Next Week
Howdy!
After several weeks of disruption caused by our recent move of our warehouse operations out of
56th Ave., life is starting to return to normal here at
Mile High Comics.
I just checked with
Lynne, and she believes that all orders from prior to our move have now been invoiced, and most
of those April orders have also been packed and shipped. Lynne is working this afternoon on orders
that we received just last week, so our remaining backlog is now quickly melting away. That makes
me very happy!
The one factor that might impede our getting caught up by the end of next week is that Pam and
Will are starting to add large quantities of choice
back issue comics
into our
New-In-Stock links.
We had a computer glitch mess up the program that updates our inventory yesterday, but when the
program finally ran this morning it registered a whopping 2,800 individual items added into
New-In-Stock
since Tuesday. That's not any kind of record for us, but it certainly is reflective of the fact
that we are getting back on track with our processing of collections.
That having been said, we are now experiencing a sudden surge in orders due to all these comics
being added. While we can certainly make good use of that revenue to help cover our moving expenses,
those additional orders will also make it just a little harder for us to completely catch up. It is
also worth mentioning that Will noted in our staff meeting today that over half of the comics that
he added to our
website
inventory yesterday had previously been out-of-stock. Suffice it to say, I
am delighted that we are expanding our selections for you again.
In other news, our 50% off TRUCKLOAD! codeword sale will need to end next Thursday, at noon. I have
kept this extremely generous half price
back issue
sale in effect for the past six weeks, primarily
to help compensate those of you who were inconvenienced by our slow shipping of orders during our move.
With that backlog of orders now melting away, however, it is time for us to stop giving away even our
best back issues at half price. Simply put, my #1 goal for the rest of 2016 will be for us to greatly
expand our online inventory. It is an unfortunate reality, however, that we cannot make as much progress
in adding comics into our inventory during our steep discount codeword sales, as we constantly have to
shift staff members from inventory over to help our fulfillment crew keep up. With over 100,000 much-needed
comics waiting to be graded right now, the reality is that I really need my inventory team back. 'Nuff said.
I will close out today's newsletter with some special offers for you. First, without my knowledge Will
Moulton cut off orders on the
complete sets
of all 51 of this year's
Free Comic Book Day editions. Will
thought that we had sold them all, but that's because he did not know about the 5 extra sets that I had
stashed away in the
ICRME
booth at the end of Saturday's benefit sale. These 5
complete FCBD sets
are the
last ones that we have, however, so if you want one be sure and order it today. A complete set of 51 issues
is only $40, plus shipping.
Another special that I can offer you today is a NM copy of the original
SUPERMAN VS. MUHAMMAD ALI treasury edition.
We had some antiques dealers walking in with four of these gems that came from the attic of an abandoned
house in Idaho. They are beautiful NM copies! Only $149.95 each, plus shipping.
SUPERMAN VS. MUHAMMAD ALI TREASURY ALL-NEW COLLECTORS EDITION #56
Finally, when I was cleaning out one of our secure areas in the 56th ave. building last month I came
across a 10-pack of of NM copies of the ultra-rare
TOMB RAIDER/THE DARKNESS SPECIAL #1.
Originally offered
only to the members of the Top Cow Publishing fan club, this special edition was produced in tiny numbers,
and is now long out-of-print. If you would like a copy of this scarce collectible, you can order one today
for only $4.95. That's one heck of a deal...

Happy collecting!

P.S. I did want to quickly mention that, while most aspects of our move have now been worked out, we are still
experiencing problems with our phone lines. The primary company that services the
Jason St.
area (CenturyLink)
is telling us that they are upgrading their lines in this area to 10-gig fiber right now. That process should
be completed in 60 days. In the meantime, however, they are not being helpful about installing the additional
phone lines that we need immediately, or providing us with any measure of speedy Internet service. If you do
try to call us, please understand that you may need to call back, as we only have two incoming lines right now.
Believe me, we're all very frustrated by this lack of progress on what should have been a simple request. Sigh...
