Free ALL-NEW X-MEN #1 40% Off NEALADAMS Codeword Begins Howdy! I want to start off today by thanking everyone who helped support our Free Comic Book Day efforts. Aside from our receiving a record number of online requests, over 1,000 fans came to each of our retail stores on Saturday, with nearly 2,000 visiting our newly expanded Jason St. Mega-Store! The net result was that Saturday was the busiest single day in our entire history! All told, we ended up giving away over 15,000 Free Comic Book Day special editions. Thank you! Free Comic Book Day 2013 at Jason St Mega Store While I have a moment, I also want to thank my good friends, Jim Shooter and Chris Claremont, for taking the time to sign autographs for our fans at Jason St. on Free Comic Book Day. They both signed comics and answered questions for over six hours straight, which would be a Herculean task for anyone. I was amazed at how they both maintained their friendliness and grace, right up to the end of the event. Suffice it to say that they are incredibly nice people, and true professionals. I also want to thank everyone on the Mile High Comics staff who volunteered to help fans (especially those who helped with the midnight event) as well as my friend, Norrie, my daughter, Rowan, and her fiance, Justin Ehart, who helped with refreshments, driving, and taking care of our guests. Without a doubt, I am blessed to work with the greatest group of people in the entire world... It is not every day that we get the chance to introduce yet another generation to the joys of reading comics... Young Readers Our next chance to introduce new fans to comics will be a giant party that we will be hosting at our Jason St. mega-Store on Thursday night, May 30th, from 6-10 PM. This will be the opening night party for this year's Denver Comic-Con, and will feature the return of comics legend, Neal Adams, to Mile High Comics. Thanks to Neal, our Thursday night party last year attracted 1200-1500 fans, and we are expecting to double that number this year. Aside from Neal Adams, we already have about 20 other comics guests already scheduled, including SAGA artist, Fiona Staples.
