2013 Free Comic Book Day Cover Scans and News Several quick notes about exciting developments here at Mile High Comics. First, at the end of this newsletter you will find a complete photo array of all 53 of this year's Free Comic Book Day special editions. We began offering those editions for advance order last evening to the 125,000 fans worldwide who subscribe to our newsletter, and they absolutely inundated us overnight with advance reservations. I highly recommend that you plan to pick up as many of this year's FCBD editions as you can this weekend, with a special reminder to pick up our SUPERMAN: LAST SON OF KRYPTON #1 DC comics variant. This SUPERMAN edition is exclusive to Mile High Comics, and can only be obtained at our four store locations, or through www.milehighcomics.com. We will begin charging $4.95 each for these very hard-to-obtain DC variants as of Monday morning... Superman FCBD #1 Mile High In case you missed my initial announcement, we are opening our Jason St. Mega-Store at 11 PM on this Friday, and will begin passing out Free Comic Book Day editions at 12:01 PM. You can receive your choice of any three of this year's FCBD special editions simply for showing up, and then earn coupons valid for even more free comics for each $10 you spend at the store that evening. We will then be opening all four of our stores at 8 AM on Saturday. You (and each member of your family...) also can receive three FCBD special editions at each of our stores that you visit, with our only restriction being that you cannot choose multiple copies of the same edition at the same location. Jim Shooter Chris Claremont Our final announcement about FCBD is that we are going to have Jim Shooter and Chris Claremont signing autographs at our Jason St. Mega-Store on Saturday from 10 AM - 4 PM. Everyone is allowed to bring in three comics from their own collection to be signed by each creator, with no limit on the number of signatures that you can receive on items purchased in the Mega-Store that day. I highly recommend having both Chris and Jim sign the same comics, as they worked together on many noteworthy series at Marvel during the incredibly wonderful period from 1979-1987. Iron Man #9 Mile High In other news, we did just receive our copies of the Mile High Comics IRON MAN #9 exclusive variant edition. They will be available for you to pick up when our stores open on Wednesday morning. We also just received a fantastic single-owner collection of 30,000+ back issue comics, magazines, graphic novels, trade paperback, and hardbacks that we will be premiering at Jason St. during the Friday night midnight opening, and will have on sale for you at Jason St. all day on Saturday. This is a collection that you really do want to see... Finally, I want to remind everyone who enjoys playing MAGIC THE GATHERING that Randy runs a very enjoyable Magic tournament every Wednesday evening at our Jason St. Mega-Store.
