53 Different Free Comic Book Day Editions Howdy! This is the beginning of our Free Comic Book Day week, which has evolved to become our single busiest time period of our entire year. Originally conceived 12 years ago by visionary comics retailer Joe Field, Free Comic Book Day has now been embraced by comics retailers and comics publishers as a day where we pass out free samples of exciting new comics projects. Walking Dead Special FCBD #1 Our online plan for this year's Free Comic Book Day is pretty simple. Effective immediately, for every $10 you spend with us via our website you can request one of this year's 53 different Free Comic Book Day special editions. Our only restriction is that you cannot order duplicate copies of any Free Comic Book Day editions in the same order. Please be advised, however, that since Free Comic Book Day does not actually occur until Saturday, orders containing Free Comic Book Day special editions will have to wait until Monday to ship. Superman FCBD #1 Mile High As a side note, we want you to be aware that most of this year's Free Comic Book Day special editions are totally sold out from the distributor. We know this to be a fact, as our entire reorder we were given only 9 of the 53 titles. Sigh... Infinity FCBD #1 The good news is that we purchased over 100 copies of each FCBD special edition to give away to our online supporters. My one cautionary note is that you should try very to get your FCBD order in to us a bit earlier this year. A couple of this year's FCBD editions are already attracting bids in the $7-$10 range via online auction sites, so spot shortages on some of the smaller print run editions may crop up. We've heard that some comics retailers chose to only give away the top ten FCBD titles this year... Aphrodite IX FCBD #1 In other news, a new 40% off FREECOMICS codeword sale is now in effect for you on all of our back issue comics and magazines, as well as all of our backlist trade paperback and hardbacks. As per usual, new comics and books are not a part of the codeword sale. Please note that this new codeword sale will only be in effect through Monday of next week. Jupiter's Legacy #1 Jupiter's Legacy #1 Phantom Moving on to publishing news, I thought that you might like to know that JUPITER'S LEGACY #1 (written by Mark Millar and drawn by Frank Quitely) is yet another new Image Comic title that has become an instant hit. Despite our ordering 3X our expectations, we still sold out at all of our stores on Wednesday. The good news is that we do still have copies in stock of a JUPITER'S LEGACY #1 Phantom Group Variant Edition, which we have priced at only $14.95. With a print run of only about 1,500 copies, this special edition variant is a great deal! Jim Shooter Chris Claremont My only other news for today is a quick reminder that we are offering you a chance this week to order comics from us signed by Jim Shooter or Chris Claremont, for only $2 each. Each will come with a special Mile High Comics certificate of authenticity. Chris and Jim will be signing autographs for us at our Jason St. Mega-Store this Saturday (Free Comic Book Day), so all autographed comics will ship on Monday.
