Auction This Saturday Comics Trade Paperbacks and Hardbacks 80%-90% Off
Howdy!
This Saturday, April 25th, we will be hosting our last
no-minimum-bid comics and toy auction
of the spring at
our Jason St. Mega-Store.
If you have missed out on the incredible bargains that we passed out at our earlier affairs, you really do not want to miss out on Saturday's event. Not only will we be offering over 400 of our own comics and toys with no reserves, but we will also be selling over 250 comics trade paperbacks and comics hardback collections, comics, and toys for charity, many of which have been out of print for many years. The auction will begin at 11:30 AM, and should run about two hours.

We will be selling the donated items to benefit FREEDOM SERVICE DOGS, an organization which rescues young dogs from shelters, and then trains them extensively to help the disabled. Many of their trained animals become the assistants for injured veterans, while some of the rest are committed to help people with spinal injuries. If you would be willing to donate some items from your own collection to help this great cause, please bring them with you to the auction. All manner of comics, toys, collectibles, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if you would like to see a Freedom Service Dog in action, be sure and be at Saturday's event. The Freedom Service Dog trainers will be bringing "Cargo" for a live demonstration! Cargo was trained extensively to help a lady with MS, but she unexpectedly passed away right after he finished bonding to her. Since Freedom Service Dogs are typically given to just one owner for life, Cargo then graduated to being a public demonstrator. He is one smart and incredibly talented dog! Bring your kids to meet him, as he is also very friendly and charming.

As an aside, many of the books and graphic novels that we will be auctioning off on Saturday are from the private library of Tim O'Conner. Tim regularly donates items for the benefit portions of our auctions, and has been especially generous this time around. If you have any interest in building your library at bargain rates, just check out the photos at the end of this newsletter. Quite a few books in our auction two weeks ago sold for just $1 each...
Before I forget, the Freedom Service Dogs portion of our auction is an official function of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire. Empress Gabbriella But'zin and Emperor Richard Brendlinger of the I.C.R.M.E chose Freedom Service Dogs and Urban Peak as their Imperial charities of this year's reign, so we will be hosting more benefits for those two organizations as the year progresses. I am Prince Royal of the I.C.R.M.E. this year, and my own designated charity is Rainbow Alley. As such, you can expect to see a live show on the Mile High Comics performance stage in the near future, put on entirely by the young people from Rainbow Alley.
I will close today's newsletter by quickly mentioning that the family of Karen Lopez, the young girl who died on March 29th when her car crashed into our store, will be bringing homemade tamales to sell at our auction this Saturday. They volunteered to do this just to help us raise a little more money for Freedom Service Dogs. Please come by and support their incredibly noble gesture.
Happy Collecting!
