Last Chance - Free AVENGERS Comics Howdy! Avengers vs X-Men #1 2nd Print I barely slept last evening. Instead, I spent hours tossing and turning over all the myriad of tasks that I need to accomplish today. For starters, after nearly two years of waiting, tonight will be the Denver premiere of Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope, the new Morgan Spurlock/Joss Whedon documentary in which I played a pivotal role. I have already seen the film three times at premieres in other cities, but having it show here in my adopted hometown of Denver is definitely the most exciting! If you live in Denver, the Comic-Con movie will be showing for a minimum of a week at the Denver Film Center-Colfax, 2510 E. Colfax (720-596-4740). I will personally appearing in the lobby before and after the 7:20 screening tonight (Friday). On Saturday evening the theater has asked me to host a Q&A after the 7:20 screening. I will caution you that tickets may be hard to come by for Saturday's 7:20 screening, however, as most of the members of the Mile High Comics staff will also be in attendance, as well as a number of my personal friends. Avengers vs X-Men #2 In case you are wondering, I did a little research last evening, and the Comic-Con movie seems to be doing extremely well as a Video On Demand download. I was quite leery of this simultaneous theatrical and VOD release at first, but I can now see where it has huge benefits for niche films that cannot (at first...) get screen time from even art houses. While the movie has thus far only released in five theaters (and as a direct result has had a miserably small reported box office total gross...) it has been blazing online. I was told yesterday that it was the #3 VOD download from iTunes, which goes a long way toward explaining how/why Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope already has 28,000 "likes" on Facebook, with that number growing by an astonishing 1,000 fans per day! I just wish that there was somewhere where they would compile VOD gross, because it looks like this movie is definitely going viral...
