LOCAL NEWS - Free Comic Book Day is Coming!
Howdy!
It has now been ten tumultuous days since the annual
Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire
election. I know that many of you who voted have been waiting for the announcement of who won, so
I am delighted to pass on to you that our candidate, Norrie Reynolds, was anointed as the 43rd
elected Empress of the
ICRME
on Saturday night! Manny Sexton (whom some of you also supported) was chosen as Emperor 43.

It might interest you to know that both of the winning candidates won by overwhelming
margins by specifically appealing to voters outside of the traditional
ICRME
community. If you voted
for either of these two candidates you can take pride in knowing that you helped to bring a set of
entirely new perspectives to Denver's oldest LGBT organization. That having been said, both Manny and
Norrie have made clear to me that they very much wish to continue the close fundraising ties between
our
ICRME
and
Mile High Comics
communities. Even though I have now relinquished my title of reigning
Prince Royale, I welcome this opportunity to work with our friends at the ICRME.

So you know, we have nearly a dozen worthy charities that are looking to us to raise funds for them
over this next year, including
Rainbow Alley,
Freedom Service Dogs,
Urban Peak,
White Rose Scholarships,
Denver Rescue Mission,
and several others. To meet their needs we are planning a busy schedule of auctions, poker games,
autograph parties, and other activities that will further those charitable goals. Your help and
assistance during some of these fundraisers would be most sincerely appreciated. Working together,
we really can make a positive difference!

As regards the timing of our next
MHC
/
ICRME
charity event, it will have to be Free Comic Book Day,
which will be on Saturday, May 7th. I wish that we could first host one of our fun no-minimum-bid auctions
for you during April, but with our having to be completely moved out of our 56th Ave. building by April 22nd,
there is just no way. As it is, I will be driving a 26-foot truck between our two buildings, every day for
the next four weeks. Once we get to FCBD, however, our move will be completed, so I will then be able to
refocus my energy back into expanding our comics stock for you, and also hosting charitable events. Stay
tuned for further developments!
That's it for today. Please have a great week, and try to take the time to enjoy your comics. You deserve
it!
Happy Collecting!

President - Mile High Comics, Inc.
