Local News - Free Comic Book Day Sets Going Fast - ICRME Election News
Howdy!
I want to begin today's local newsletter by letting you know that our advance reservations for
complete sets of all 54 of the 2018 Free Comic Book Day variant editions
are running waaay ahead of our expectations. Free Comic Book Day is still two months away (May 5th), but
a full 20%! of all the complete sets that we pre-ordered from Diamond Distributing are now already reserved,
with additional orders arriving from our online clientele by the hour.
This massive advance ordering of our
FCBD sets
concerns me more than just a little, as we typically have had 100+ sets available to offer to fans in exchange
for a charitable donation on FCBD morning at our
Jason St. Mega-Store.
Based upon current trends, however, that will simply not be the case this year. My best advice for you at this
point is that you reserve your set right away by visiting
our website.
If you wish, you can the request that your set be waiting for you on FCBD morning at any one of
our three Denver-area retail stores,
with no delivery charge. All 54 issues will be yours for only a $40 donation, all of which will go to assist the
Matthew Shepard Foundation
in their ongoing efforts to assure civil rights for everyone (Plus a flat shipping fee of $15.00 Domestic $30.00
International per set) Thank you!
Matthew Shepard Foundation Erase Hate Flyer
In addition to giving out
Free Comic Book Day sets,
we are also going to have a personal appearance at
Jason St.
on FCBD by Dennis and Judy Shepard, Matthew Shepard's parents. I am personally covering all the costs to print a
beautiful Matthew Shepard limited edition print for that day, which Dennis and Judy will then sign for you in
exchange for a $20 donation. I hope to have an image of our limited edition print for you very soon.
Wendy and Richard Pini
Also on FCBD will be a return appearance to Mile High Comics of
Wendy and Richard Pini,
the creators of the incredible ELFQUEST comics series. Wendy and Richard have visited Mile High Comics many times in
the past, and have always been dedicated supporters of our company. They agreed to stop and visit with fans in
Jason St.
on FCBD as a part of their 40th Anniversary ELFQUEST Nationwide Tour, and to donate funds received from autographs
to the
Matthew Shepard Foundation.
The first three items that they autograph for you that day will be at no charge, with $2 per item afterwards being
donated to the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
My only other item for today is a personal request that you come to
Jason St.
to help me a week from Saturday (March 24th) to get LaShay DiMarco elected as the 45th Empress of the Imperial Court
of the Rocky Mountain Empire. LaShay is locked in a very tight battle for next year's Empress position with a young
Denver drag queen who is quite a nice person, but nowhere near as experienced as LaShay. LaShay's opponent does,
however, have the backing of several of Denver's most powerful drag performers, so LaShay very much needs your help
to in order to win the election.
LaShay DiMarco 45th Empress Logo
The voting for ICRME Empress is all day on March 24th, from 11 AM - 6 PM, at the
C.H.U.N. (Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods) Community Center,
located near Cheeseman Park on 13th and Williams St. Parking near Cheeseman Park on a Saturday can be a bit daunting,
so we will be offering a free park-n-ride shuttle from our Mile High Comics Jason St. location over to the C.H.U.N.
center. As those of you who voted for Norrie Reynolds for Empress two years ago may recall, it is a quick and easy
trip over to the park, and lots of fun to vote.
Chuck Rozanski 45th Emperor Button
In addition to voting for LaShay for Empress, I am also going to ask everyone voting on Saturday the 24th to please
wear one of my "Charles Rozanski for Emperor 45" buttons over to the ICRME voting headquarters. I originally printed
these beautiful collectible buttons to give to all of my supporters, but now that I have been refused the right to
run for Emperor this year by the ICRME Board of Directors, your wearing my button will not have any real applicability
except as a symbolic show of support. It would mean a lot to me, however, to be able to show those that denied you the
right to vote for me as Emperor that I did, indeed, have the Community behind my candidacy, even if the ICRME Board
of Directors deemed me unworthy.
Your taking a few minutes out of your day on Saturday the 24th to wear my button to the polls, and to vote for
LaShay DiMarco for Empress, would be sincerely appreciated. Only when good people work together toward a common cause
can the world we share be made to be a better place...
Happy collecting!
Chuck Rozanski,
President - Mile High Comics, Inc.
