60% Off Sale Ends Thursday New STAR WARS Variant Editions Arrive Howdy! I want to begin today by sincerely thank those of you who have sent me best wishes on my upcoming 60th birthday. Your kind comments in the "notes" sections of your orders really made my day! As regards my birthday itself, I will be spending tomorrow night celebrating quietly with my family, and on Wednesday evening (my actual birthday) I will be participating in a Texas Hold-Em tournament with all my friends from the Royal Poker Club. Life is good... On a related note, with my birthday almost upon us, our 60% off HAPPY50th! codeword sale that I put into effect at the request of our Operations Vice President, William Murakai, will need to conclude on Thursday, at noon. William celebrated his own 50th birthday at the end of last week, and just in case you missed my previous announcements, the HAPPY50th! sale was named in William's honor. The revenues that will be generated by all the orders that we have been receiving as a result of his sale will help William a great deal in catching up with our company bills, and since he is responsible for our vendor relations, that has definitely made him very happy. William and I both send our sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who has ordered during our HAPPY50th sale. Star Wars (2015) #3 Mile High In other news, our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of STAR WARS (2015) #3 (with the great Emperor Palpatine cover by Humberto Ramos) will begin shipping on Wednesday. As was the case with our STAR WARS (2015) #1 and #2 variants, our total print run on #3 is limited to only 3,000 copies worldwide, making it among the lowest print run Star Wars comics ever published. So you know, we have already pre-sold a substantial portion of our print run of #3, so our initial release price on our remaining copies of #3 is now $29.95. Supplies are limited. Speaking of limited supplies, we were extremely fortunate to be able to obtain copies of STAR WARS (2015) #1 (3rd printing variant) and STAR WARS (2015) #2 (2nd printing variant). It used to be that later printings of comics were considered to be "reprints," and as such were instantly designated as having lesser value in the secondary market than the original printing. In all honesty, however, a rapidly growing group of collectors and dealers has come to realize that that outdated perspective on later printings just makes no sense. In the case of STAR WARS (2015) #1, for example, the standard #1 edition reportedly had a print run of one million copies, while the second and third printings had estimated print runs only in the 10,000 - 20,000 range. Both of those later printing variants sold out within 24 hours of solicitation, with most comics shops in America receiving not even a single copy. That having been said, it seems clear to me that the later printings of STAR WARS (2015) will be much, much harder to obtain for future collectors. That is why we are ordering the maximum number of copies on all later STAR WARS (2015) printings, whenever they come available. Need I say more?
