Howdy!
I want to start off today by mentioning that I personally sorted through 4,000 hard-to-find newer comics yesterday that I picked up in one of my wholesale comics purchases in New York. I had already known that this choice single-owner collection was really good, but when I opened the seller's boxes (most for the first time...), I was delighted to discover nearly complete runs of all the Marvel and DC comics published between 2008 and the beginning of 2012. Comics published during that recent time period are astoundingly popular right now, and we are having a heck of a time keeping those hard-to-find 2008-2012 back issues in stock. This collection only contained one single copy of each of those newer Marvel and DC issues, but that's still much better than our having none in stock at all.
As an aside, a significant reason why comics from the past five years are becoming so scarce in the secondary market is that there are now far more buyers, than sellers. Simply put, comics collecting is coming back into vogue, at least in part because of positive portrayals of comics fans on shows like THE BIG BANG THEORY. Having an entirely new generation of eager comics collectors has spiked comics demand far beyond the level of recent print runs. In a nutshell, that is why I urge you to keep looking at our New-In-Stock listings each day for any recent issues that you might be seeking. We do get many of them in stock during the course of any given week, but they are oftentimes selling just as quickly as we can post them to our website.
On a related topic, I do want to make sure that you were aware of our new 30% off SUNSHINE codeword sale on all eight million of

All of the above having been said, I have no idea if the Marvel writers will be able to make these new AGE OF ULTRON stories engaging, but on the surface their publishing plan looks excellent. And the staggered way that they are releasing these titles also seems to be precisely the kind of strategic plan that will act to create shortages of supply of these titles in the secondary marketplace. Spot shortages of existing back issue titles that are related to this new crossover (such as ROCKET RACCOON) are already driving up some back issue prices to record levels, so I can only imagine what will happen to our prices on back issues of AGE OF ULTRON as this year progresses.

Well, that's it for today. I am now heading in to our Jason St. Mega-Store to put the final planning into place for our newest expansion of what is already the world's largest comics shop. In case you are wondering, we are adding a 10,000 square foot poster and art gallery on the north end, while consolidating all 250,000 of our backlist comics trade paperbacks and hardback books into one huge bookstore area on the south end of the building. Moving all of these enormous displays will be a logistics nightmare, but we are shooting for our expansion to all be completed by the start of our summer tourist season in June, so we just have to get started, and the deal with the difficulties as they arise.
