Huge 50 Comics for only $20 Blowout Sale This Weekend Only at Jason St. Howdy! I am very happy to report that we are almost ready to begin our next expansion of our Jason St. Mega-Store. In case you had not heard, we have been clearing out the warehouse area on the north end of Jason, specifically so that we can move our $1 comics selection to that end of the building. This shift will allow us to finally construct our brand new bookstore filled with comics graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and hardbacks, right where our 100,000+ bargain comics are presently located. Before we begin this massive shifting of our $1 comics, however, I thought that I would make you a very special one-time offer. Over the next four days (Friday-Monday), we are going to have a special sale in effect on our $1 comics where you can purchase any 50 issues of your choice, for only $20. That works out to an astounding 40 cents each! Given that selling a few of these comics would help lighten our moving burden, I figure that it is a particularly good deal for everyone. Please do note, however, that this one-time sale will need to end on Monday afternoon, at closing, and that you do have to buy 50 comics to receive the bargain price. On Tuesday, we will begin shifting the $1 comics to the north end... In other news from our local stores, David Saindon (the incredibly talented manager of our Lakewood store...) approached me a couple of weeks ago with the request that we start offering a nice selection of older comics in our Lakewood and Colorado Blvd. stores. It seems that quite a few of the fans who shop each week at those stores were eager to see a selection of older comics, but did not necessarily have the time to stop by Jason St. That request seemed quite reasonable to me, especially in light of the fact that I just picked up over 20,000+ pre-1985 comics on my latest east coast buying trip. Several thousand of those older comics had yet to be graded by our inventory team, so we turned over 600 issues to David this morning, with half being allocated to Lakewood, and the other half heading for Colorado Blvd. Our goal will be to send one more full long box to each store each week, until each store has about 2,000 older comics in stock. We will then begin rotating unsold issues back into the mail order. David and Aaron should have their first batches of 300 Silver Age and Bronze Age comics available for you to peruse right now. While Lakewood and Colorado Blvd. will be receiving small selections of older comics for this weekend, Jason St. will be adding yet another 3,000 more (!) older comics into their New Arrivals area over this weekend. Need I say anything more? I will close with a quick mention that we are planning a very big no-minimum-bid Silver Age and Bronze Age comics auction at Jason St. for a week from Saturday, March 9th. My plan is to begin our auction that Saturday morning at 11:30 AM with a few choice issues from two huge private collections that I will be seeking to buy in New York next week. I have no way of knowing right now how good those comics might turn out to be, but since these are both single-owner collections that began in the early 1970's, there could be some great comics included in these two prospective deals!
