Rare Star Wars #2 ARAGONES Variant
HALFPRICE Comics Sale

Howdy!

Once again, it is snowing here in Boulder. According to our local newspaper, we need only have five more inches of snow over the next 36 hours in order for this month to reach the highest snow total of any month in our 150 years of record-keeping. What makes this all the more remarkable is that, unlike much of the Midwest and East, we had weather in the high 60's right up through the middle of the month. Then the weather patterns suddenly shifted, with most of this vast quantity of snow then falling during only the past 14 days. Simply incredible...

While our difficulties with snow (and bone-chilling cold) are relatively recent, many of our clients are in parts of the world where this winter has been dreadful almost from the beginning. The photos that I've seen from the Boston area are especially compelling, with standing snow mounds over five feet deep. This would normally have affected me directly, as I typically spend a lot of time purchasing back issue comics in the New England area in wintertime.

I decided to make an exception to my annual East Coast buying trips this year, however, instead focusing my efforts on helping our sorting team at our Jason St. Mega-Store. Simply put, we have about two million high quality back issue comics that still remain unsorted from my past buying trips. It only makes sense that we first work to make those issues available to you by getting them sorted and graded, before I go out and purchase more.

In a nutshell, all of that sorting and grading is why our postings to our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links have been so robust over the past few months. This is just the beginning, however, as we have a team of ten staffers working every day on some aspect of adding even more comics, books, and magazines to our online offerings for you. My primary goal each day is to both increase the size of our comics inventory team, and also their productivity. That having been said, I will guarantee you that we will have available for you over one million more (!) comics before 2015 draws to a close. I may not be out buying collections right now, but I most certainly am working each day to make our website even more useful for you.

While I know that availability is certainly one important consideration for you when building your collection, I am well aware that cost is another. That is precisely why I am keeping our current 50% off HALFPRICE! codeword in effect for you, at least through the end of next week. This codeword allows you to purchase darn near any of the ten million comics comics and magazines that we list on our website at half price. Only new comics, a few variants, and our CGC-graded comics are not a part of the half price promotion. All of those great backlist comics that we just added into New-In-Stock ARE included, as are all of the Golden Age, Silver Age, and Bronze Age comics that Pam just added into Premium New-In-Stock. Enjoy!

Moving on to Star Wars news, we were blessed to be among a tiny number of comics retailers who received copies of the incredible Sergio Aragones variant edition to STAR WARS (2015) #2 shown below. I have no idea as to the actual print run of Sergio's variant, but I am guessing that fewer than 5,000 copies exist. That having been said, we were lucky to receive enough copies of the Sergio Aragones variant that I can offer them to you for the incredibly low price of only $9.95 each. Please be aware, however, that our very low asking price will probably prompt some investors to seek to buy our entire stock, so all of our copies may quickly disappear.

Star Wars #2 Aragones

In other news, Monday morning will be the cut-off point for all pre-orders on our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of STAR WARS: PRINCESS LEIA #1. If you (quickly!) write to Greg in our new comics subscription department at nice@milehighcomics.com, he can still pre-order a copy of this very cool limited edition for you for only $19.95. He can also set up a subscription for you for issues #2-#5, if you wish. All will have covers by the great Gabriele Dell'Otto. Each issue will have a tiny print run of only 3,000 copies worldwide, which is precisely why we never wholesale any of our variants, and need to limit individual purchases to only two copies (each) per client. STAR WARS PRINCESS LEIA #2 releases just two weeks later, on March 18th...

Star Wars: Princess Leia #1 Mile High

The week after next (march 11th) will see the release of our exclusive Mile High Comics variant of STAR WARS (2015) #3, with a remarkable image of Emperor Palpatine by Humberto Ramos on the cover. We already have such a large number of this variant pre-ordered, that we had to bump the pre-order price up to $24.95. Once again, you can reserve your copy through Greg and/or Mario in our new comics subscription department. You can write to them at nice@milehighcomics.com, or call them (weekdays 9-5) at 303-455-2659.

Happy Collecting!

P.S. With orders for all of our Star Wars variants continuing to grow steadily, you can expect their prices to rise steadily as our remaining on-hand supplies dwindle away. We do still have copies of our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of STAR WARS (2015) #1 available at $49.95, and our STAR WARS (2015) #2 at $39.95. At their current rate of sale, however, there is no way that we will have any copies remaining when STAR WARS EPISODE VII releases on December 18th. With only 3,000 copies of each in existence, our variants are among the rarest Star Wars collectibles ever published...
