Rare DC State Flag Editions Release Today Howdy! After months of anticipation, the long-awaited JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA (2013) #1 is finally on sale today. This amazing promotion by DC Comics pays homage to all 50 American states (plus Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.), by giving each one its own special cover featuring its very unique state flag. I knew from the beginning that this was going to be an exceptionally popular publishing decision on DC's part, as the ground-breaking state quarters promotion by the US Mint essentially reinvigorated the entire coin collecting world. In the case of this new #1 edition, however, there are not millions of each state variant edition available, as the comics world cannot support such large print runs. DC does not release exact numbers, but I would venture an estimate that fewer than 10,000 copies each were printed of most of these JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA (2013) #1 editions, with some printings from smaller states running in the minuscule 3,000 - 5,000 copies range. In effect, these state flag editions may well turn out to be the scarcest DC variants published in the past decade!
