60 Off All Back Issues STAR WARS #3 Cover Arrives Howdy! I had it pointed out to me yesterday that we have traditionally offered a 60% off SWEETHEART codeword sale on our back issue comics and magazines around the Valentines Day holiday. In all honesty, that reminder really made my hackles rise, as I am bound and determined to get away from the our long-standing concept of sacrificing even our best older comics for pennies on the dollar. I sincerely do want to offer everyone great deals on our website, but with many of our website listings not having been updated for three years (or longer), 60% off codeword sales drop the net that we receive on many comics to below our cost of replacement. That having been said, I really do want to be fair to everyone, so I am relenting in my opposition to offering 60% off discounts, but only for a short period of time. Effective immediately, you can purchase any of our ten million back issues at 60% off when you utilize the SWEETHEART codeword. The 60% off sale will absolutely end on TUESDAY, however, at noon, with NO extensions. The SWEETHEART codeword applies to all of our comics and magazines, except for new issues, a few variants, and our CGC-graded comics. Aside from offering you our back issues at an insanely steep discount of 60% off, also want to let you know that we will be receiving a huge shipment of Star Wars trade paperbacks and hardbacks on Wednesday that we're published by Dark Horse Comics. As I'm sure that you are aware by now, Disney/LucasFilms refused to renew Dark Horse's license to publish Star Wars material last year, and instead turned all of the Star Wars publishing rights to Marvel Comics. Star Wars #1 Mile High What you may not yet know, however, is that most licensing agreements only allow a set period of time for a licensee to liquidate their remaining inventory after their license ends. I believe that is the case with the Dark Horse Star Wars license, as they suddenly started blowing out all their warehouse inventory of Star Wars books last week, including some titles that have been showing as out-of-print for years. We were one of the very first comics retailers to notice this incredible liquidation, and we purchased nearly 2,000 Dark Horse- published Star Wars trade paperbacks and hardbacks in a single afternoon. So you know, my goal is to keep at least 1,500 of those Dark Horse books in stock until the next Star Wars movie releases in December. But since our invoice for this huge book shipment will be coming due long before that point in time, I am going to offer you one last shot at buying any of the Dark Horse books that we just received at 80% of original cover price. Suffice it to say, this may be the last chance you ever get to pick up these Star Wars books at below cover price. Once they go out-of-print, prices will definitely rise. Star Wars #2 Mile High Here are several more bits of important data on the evolution of the market for current Star Wars comics. First, our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of STAR WARS (2015) #2 will be rising to $39.95 on Monday. Our supplies on our variants of both #1 and #2 are continuing to diminish at an alarming pace. Second, we have now pre-committed two thirds of our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition copies of STAR WARS: PRINCESS LEIA #1 that we had allocated for pre-sales at $19.95 each. Additional pre-orders are arriving at the rate of 30-40 copies per day, so it will definitely need to rise to $24.95 on Monday. STAR WARS PRINCESS LEIA #1 releases in under three weeks, on March 4th. Star Wars #3 Mile High Finally, if you have not yet signed up for our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of STAR WARS (2015) #3, you really had best do so right away. We just received the finished artwork for this 3rd (of six...) exclusive STAR WARS (2015) covers that we commissioned from Humberto Ramos, and we are of the opinion that his cover to #3 is just stunning!
