Spider-Man, Walking Dead 40% Off

Howdy!

I want to start off today by thanking everyone who has already placed an order with us utilizing our current 40% off WOODCHUCK steep discount codeword. Our sales over this past weekend were far and away the best of any weekend this year, at least in part because we received a huge surge in orders that utilized the 40% off WOODCHUCK codeword. As much as I am reluctant to let even our best back issue comics be sold at such a steep 40% discount, I do have to admit that it is wonderful to see so many of you picking up great bargains from our website. My chosen task in life is to help you to build your comics and book collections, and it makes me extremely happy when we can provide great comics to you, at bargain prices! The WOODCHUCK codeword is still in effect for you, and will be for at least the next few days.

Moving on to other news, I am far more relaxed today, as I am not facing the daunting task I experienced last Friday of driving 650 miles in just one day. I did manage to pull off that epic roundtrip journey from New Hampshire to our staging warehouse on Long Island, however, and thus had enough room in our cargo van to be able to purchase yet another 12,000 great back issue comics to offer you over the weekend. Our 10-day total is now up to a staggering 105,000+ back issue comics, magazines, comics trade paperbacks, and hardbacks! These new acquisitions should help us to provide you with even more options of great comics bargains later this week, and throughout the entire month of February.

All of the above having been said, my primary job for today will be building 6' high pallets of my comics boxes for shipment back to Denver. This is a little bit more difficult than it sounds, as many of the collections that I purchased over this past week were not in long white boxes. The trick is to put the most stable and strongest boxes on the bottom, and save the weaker boxes for near the top of the pallet. You then use multiple layers of extra strong plastic skid wrap as a binder to hold the entire package together. I know that some of the folks who watch me building pallets think that I go a little bit overboard in my packing concerns, but after having had the dreadful experience of receiving pallets in Denver that vibrated apart during shipment, I do not think that you can be too careful. After all, what is the point of putting huge effort into seeking out wonderful old comics to offer you, and then letting them get damaged in shipment?

Speaking of old comics, I did want to mention that these latest groupings that I purchased contained over 3,000 Silver Age and Bronze Age Marvel and DC comics, as well as a very respectable number of 1960's and 1970's Archie, Harvey, Dell, and Gold Key titles. Since I already know that many of you have these issues recorded in your personal "Want List" on our website, I am certain that these issues will be very popular. I was especially pleased to purchase a very nice early 1960's run of GREEN LANTERN comics yesterday, as well several as early JLA issues, a big batch of early FABLES, and a near-complete run of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN. I also was able to unearth a large batch of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN back issues, including a bunch of the issues from the extremely popular runs of the past few years. FYI, those newer AMAZING SPIDER-MAN issues are selling so quickly for us, that we can barely keep them in stock...

Amazing Spider-Man
#700 2nd Print
Speaking of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, I did want to mention again that the second printing variant edition to #700 will be releasing on Wednesday. We are accepting preorders on these issues today and tomorrow at $7.99, with the price bumping up to $8.99 on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if this new #700 variant will prove as popular as the other editions of #700, but there are those on our staff who believe that it actually has the nicest cover of all the variants, all of which sold out quickly, and have jumped in price substantially in the secondary market.

Also, just in case you missed my announcement on Friday, you can also earn one free copy of the new #700 2nd Print Variant edition as a reward for simply placing any minimum $50 order with us over the next few days. Just place your $50 order with us as per usual, and then ask for your free AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 2nd Print Variant in the "notes" section of our online order form. Please do first take into account the ongoing benefits of the 40% off WOODCHUCK codeword, however, when determining if you have met the $50 minimum for a free copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 2nd Print.

My only other announcement for today is a quick mention that I will be back in Denver on Thursday, and plan to host one of our fun no-minimum-bid comics auctions at our Jason St. Mega-Store on Saturday, beginning at 11:30 AM. If you might be in the Denver area over this upcoming weekend, please do try and stop by to visit us! Jason St. is very conveniently located where I-25 and I-70 cross each other, right in the heart of central Denver. We are expanding the retail store portion of Jason St. to 45,000 square feet right now, by adding a special 10,000 square foot section devoted exclusively to comics trade paperbacks, hardbacks, and graphic novels. As much as I love being on the road buying comics, I am eager to get home to help our Jason St. team with this exciting new project!

Happy Collecting!

Wolverine #1
Not Final Art
P.S. I almost forgot to mention that the deadline is rapidly approaching for our cutting off pre-orders on our exclusive Mile High Comics Variant Editions of WOLVERINE #1 and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1. You can pre-order up to 20 copies of each (sorry that's the limit...) from Greg and Mario in our new comics subscription department at only $6 each. Once our variants are actually released, however, their price will immediately rise to $9.95, and if past trends are any indication, may well jump in price substantially after that point. To cite an example of what I mean, SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1, our most recent exclusive variant, is now priced at $19.95 because we had sold over 70% of the entire print run within 72 hours of its release.
