50% Off MARMOT Codeword Sale Ends Wednesday - Rare Pacific Comics Half Off

Howdy!

Our annual 50% off MARMOT! codeword sale ends in just 48 hours, on Wednesday, at noon. I would love to extend the sale deadline for you, but with almost all of our back issue comics and magazines available during the sale at half price we have already received so many orders that a small shipping backlog will be inevitable. I definitely do not want a repeat of the 2-3 week delays we experienced during early January, so I have no choice but to end the MARMOT! codeword on Wednesday, at noon. 'Nuff said.

In other news, I am continuing to prepare us for our epic consolidation of our 56th Ave. and Jason St. warehouses. Under the terms of the sales contract that we currently have in effect, our moving out of the six million comics and magazines stored in 56th is supposed to be completed by April 4th. That date presumes, however, that the buyers of our 56th Ave. building actually go through with the contract. They have had inspectors swarming over our building for the last week, and have even more scheduled for tomorrow. As the contract is written, they can use the findings of any of those experts to conceivably terminate the deal, which would put us back at square one. That having been said, I have no choice but to presume that the April 4th deadline will hold, so I have been working 7 days a week to pack and prepare for the move.

The good news for you in all of this packing and moving is that I keep finding "lost" gems in the pallets of comics and books that I am pulling off of our highest levels of steel racking. Just yesterday, for example, I came across several long boxes of NM back issue comics published by Pacific Comics. Pacific was one of the very first Independent publishers, creating an amazing line of high quality titles between 1980-1984. During their brief span of publishing they not only highlighted the works of legendary creators such as Jack Kirby, Al Williamson, John Bolton, and Richard Corben, but they also had the wisdom to introduce us to a plethora of new creators, such as Dave Stevens and Arthur Suydam. Finding those thousands of copies of scarce Pacific titles really made my evening!

All of the above having been said, I want to now offer you several opportunities to pick up scarce titles published by Pacific Comics at significant discounts from our usual list prices. Here are the titles where I found enough NM copies to be able to immediately be able offer you special discounts:

P.S. Below is a complete listing of all of the titles published by Pacific Comics . We have a great many in stock right now, but only because we have been finding so many scarce issues on those old pallets I stashed during the early 1990's. As an aside, I was actually in San Diego in 1979 when Dave Scroggy, Bill Shanes, and Steve Shanes first talked about creating their wonderful new publishing company, so it is really hard for me to believe that Pacific has now been gone for 30 years. It is scary how quickly a lifetime melts away...
