I worked at our 56th Ave. headquarters building until almost 10 PM last evening, steadily working my way through a 60' long section of shelving filled with archived Mile High Comics paperwork. My goal was to separate important documents and bits of our history from a seemingly endless morass of old receipts and invoices. Sorting paperwork was a relatively boring way for me to spend a Sunday afternoon and evening, except for the fact that I kept also finding hidden stashes of rare collectibles among the dross. How and why those items ended up on those paperwork shelves is beyond my ability to comprehend, but the net result for you will be a significant enhancement of our daily New-In-Stock offerings of scarce comics and trade paperbacks, at least all of the rest of this week. LOST GIRLS HC SLIPCASE ARTIST PROOF One particularly noteworthy item that was tucked behind some boxes was a signed slipcased edition of Alan Moore's erotic fantasy, LOST GIRLS. We offered artist proof editions of this awesome story as an e-mail special a couple years ago at $199.95, and quickly sold most of our allotment. I have a feeling that this one copy was held for someone who ultimately failed to pay us, and was subsequently misplaced. FANTASTIC FOUR RETURN (1967) PAPERBACK In other news, we do also still have VF/NM copies available of the 1967 FANTASTIC FOUR paperback that I offered for $19.95 each in Friday's newsletter. This scarce paperback features B&W reprints of two of the earliest DR. OOM and SUB-MARINER stories. So you know, all of these special items that I am offering you in my newsletter are only materializing because of our impending consolidation of our 56th Ave. and Jason St. inventories. What makes these comics exceptional is that they are in the original Mylar sleeves that were purchased by me in 1985 for only the very best comics from the legendary Mile High II collection. Each comic also comes with the original embossed certificate of authenticity that we issued to only the very best Mile High II copies.
