Two New Mile High Comics Variants WOLVERINE and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Howdy! Savage Wolverine Things are pretty darn exciting for us here at Mile High Comics these days, as we are already gearing up for what looks to be the very best year in our history! I make that broad and overly enthusiastic statement with few reservations, as 2013 has really started off for us with incredible successes. To expand a little on my previous statement, our limited edition variant edition of SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 is now 75% sold out, just 48 hours after its official release date! We do have copies representing about 25% of the print run still available, but we had planned all along to stash those issues in our special variants room, for future sale. We will now go ahead and list some of our reserve copies on the website, but please be aware that our price will need to be rising even further as our remaining supplies dwindle. Suffice it to say, those of you who pre-ordered our J. Scott Campbell variant edition through our our new comics subscription service at only $6 per copy, made out very, very well! In all honesty, I had not planned to even mention this second WOLVERINE variant until we were closer to the release date, but the possibility now exists that may sell out all of the 40% of the print run that we have budgeted for pre-orders before the book even ships. Ramos sketch (Not Final Art) Our second upcoming variant will be a special limited edition of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1. So you know, Marvel is really pushing GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY as their next big thing, at least in part because there is a major film featuring that group slated to be released at the end of next year. Pre-orders on our upcoming variant edition this book are also being accepted right now at only $6 each. The cover artist has not yet been selected. While our variants program has certainly helped start 2013 off with a bang, I have also made it my personal goal to purchase at least 20 major collections and/or wholesale accumulations of scarce back issue comics to offer to you during the first six months of 2013. I am right on track as of this moment, having scored 25,000 great comics in Dallas the weekend of the 5th of January, and a huge Marvel collection containing over 20,000 single issues in Indiana, on Tuesday of this week. The Dallas comics are already showing up for you to peruse by the thousands in this week's New In Stock listings, with a heavy emphasis on older Marvel, DC, Dell, Gold Key, Charlton, Harvey, Archie titles, as well as hundreds of other Golden Age, Silver Age, and Bronze Age titles from smaller publishers of the 1940's - 1970's. Marvel Super Heroes #18 Meanwhile, 240 of the key issues from the Indiana collection helped to make our Marvel Premium New-In-Stock listing for yesterday the best one-day total that we have been able to post in over a year. It is not every day that we are able to offer you AMAZING FANTASY #15, SPIDER-MAN #1-#14, AVENGERS #1-#10, DAREDEVIL #1-#10, X-MEN #-#10, and many, many more! That is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, however, as those great old Marvel comics listed in yesterday's Premium New-In-Stock were all from just one long box that I brought back on the plane with me from Indiana. The other 95 long boxes, full of complete runs of most Marvel Comics titles from 1961-present, just arrived at our warehouse this morning. We will begin grading those 20,000+ Marvel comics for you just as soon as we finish up the last few boxes from Dallas... While those first two collections that I have already purchased have started out this year for us really well, I already have another batch containing huge number of older comics waiting for me in New Jersey. I will be flying to the East Coast on Thursday of next week, and will immediately begin an epic two-week buying trip by attending my good friend, John Paul's, Meadowlands NJ show on Sunday, January 27th. John Paul's shows are not large, but what they lack in terms of mass they more than make up for in friendliness, and in exceptionally great deals on older comics. Many of the dealers at John Paul's shows are personal fiends of mine, and I can assure you that they are fair, honest, and completely professional. I hope to see you there!
