SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1 Already
Sold Out From Marvel

X-Men #2
Bristish Variant
Howdy!

Today's newsletter is being written on a flight to Dallas, where I will be attending the North Texas Comic Book Shows on Saturday and Sunday. I already have several meetings set up in advance, so I am reasonably optimistic that I will be able to meet my goal of purchasing a minimum of 15,000 more back issues to offer you next week on our website.

While my wholesale comics purchases of this weekend are yet to occur, Pam did buy one very nice single-owner collection yesterday that contained about 1,000 Silver Age and Bronze Age back issues ranging from 1963-1985, including a slew of early ten cent and twelve cent cover price Marvel and DC titles. The best book in this one collection was a very scarce British variant of X-MEN #2, in Fine condition. That one key issue was but the beginning, however, as there were quite a few early issues from a broad range of titles, including SPIDER-MAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, WONDER WOMAN, and many more.

Superior
Spider-Man #1
Speaking of SPIDER-MAN, we have a very unusual circumstance that has occurred this week, as a late surge in advance orders has resulted in all of our pre-sale copies of the upcoming SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1 being sold out. We already had quite a few copies of this new Spider-Man title ordered in advance, but now that everyone knows that the story that began in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 is continued in this new #1 issue, demand for this comic has just exploded. We actually tried to order more copies from Marvel on Monday, but for whatever reason, they had already sold out of all their copies ten days (!) before release. Suffice it to say, we think this title is going to be in very high demand in the secondary market from the moment that it releases next Wednesday.

I am mentioning all this advance sizzle as regards SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1 because I want you to be able to explore all options for obtaining a copy before it is released on Wednesday. For starters, I highly encourage you to try and find a copy at your local comics retailer. They may still have some unallocated copies which you may be able to reserve from them in advance at cover price. Our own online subscription service is already over allocated, so that is not an option.

If you cannot reserve a copy locally, about all that I can offer you at this point in time is a shot at one of the 100 copies that we advance ordered specifically for our back issue department. We are going to be offering these 100 copies effective this afternoon on our website, but at a price yet to be determined, as the market on this book is already extremely fluid. We will do our best to keep our website price low for you, but it will certainly be somewhere above cover price, with a strict limit of one copy per customer. Also, please be aware that if you do order a copy of SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1 from us, that your order cannot be shipped until the official released date, of next Wednesday...

On a related note, our efforts to locate some more copies of the ultra-popular AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 variants has finally been successful! If you missed out during the initial mania for these four variants, you now have a second chance to obtain them from us. We have not as of yet been able to locate any more copies of the regular edition of #700, so in a rather ironic twist, we now have more of the very low print run variants in stock than the high print run standard cover edition. Prices on all of these various issues of #700 are also very fluid right now, so don't be surprised if they change daily.

As an aside, if you just want to read #700, a second printing (with a different cool cover...) has already been solicited, copies of which we will be giving away as soon as they ship to us. Please don't ask for these freebies in advance, however, as we do not yet know when they are going to arrive. If you really feel the need to lock in copies of the second printing of #700 right now, you can contact Greg or Mario in our subscription department either by phone at 303-455-2659 (weekdays 9-5), or by e-mail nice@milehighcomics.com. They can order for you as many copies as you might wish...

My final news note for today is a quick mention that our annual 30% off HOLIDAY codeword is still in effect for you. I am planning to end the codeword sale next week, but I am holding off on setting an exact date as I first want to see now many deals on old comics that I am offered during this trip to Dallas. If I exceed my budget, I may need to keep the 30% off HOLIDAY codeword sale in effect for a bit longer than I originally planned. The 30% off codeword sale still applies to all eight million of our back issue comics and 250,000+ back list trade paperbacks and comics hardbacks, but not to new comics and books, and non-comics items listed on our website.

Happy Collecting!

P.S. I almost forgot that we do have three new giveaway issues to offer you today. These are all Phantom Group variants, which are extremely scarce as there are only 20 select comics retailers in our variants publishing group, and we share in these tiny print runs. You can ask for any one of these cool variants for free if you place a minimum $30 order with us over the weekend, or all three if you place a minimum $75 order. Just ask for your choice in the "notes" section of our online order form, and we will include your selection with your order completely free of charge. Enjoy!
