1,000 Silver and Bronze Comics More Amazing Spider-Man News
Howdy!

X-Men #2 Bristish Variant
|
I have good news today for those of you who collect older comics. Just yesterday, our head comics buyer, Pam Brandle, purchased a wonderful collection containing over 1,000 different 1963-1985 Marvel and DC back issue comics! The highlights of the collection include an extremely rare
British variant of X-Men #2
in Fine, as well as
Daredevil #4
in Very Good, and a
Brave and the Bold #34
(featuring the first appearance of Hawkman) in Very Good.
While the three comics I just mentioned are but a tiny sampling of this vast and wonderful single-owner collection of 1,000 comics, the entire collection of Silver Age and Bronze Age comics is going to be sent over to
our Jason St. Mega-Store
over the next few days, with the first batch arriving on Friday morning, and another wave hitting on Saturday morning. We did, however, only receive one copy each of these older comics. Need I say more?
While there will be a lot of comics excitement at Jason St. this weekend, I cannot be there personally to chat with you. Instead, I am flying to Dallas on Friday morning, seeking to buy even more comics.
I already have a deal set up which excites me very much, to purchase about 10,000 comics published during the past 16 months. Because Jason St. does not offer new comics, a glaring weakness of our bin inventory of back issues has been copies of very recent titles. It makes me very happy to know that we may be able to offer you a much, much better selection of recent back issues after the end of next week...
While I am traveling to Dallas primarily to buy that one big newer comics deal, I am also going to be visiting 5 of our biggest Texas back issue comics suppliers on my journey, while also attending the
North Texas Comics Fair
on Saturday and Sunday. My goal is to bring back from Dallas yet another 1,000 different Golden Age, Silver Age, and Bronze Age comics, with a special emphasis on those fun 1960-1980 Marvel, DC, Dell, Gold Key, Charlton, Archie, and Harvey comics that so many of you avidly shop for at Jason St. I'll update you on all my adventures in Texas in next week's newsletter.
Moving on to other news, there is a chance that we may be getting some more copies of the four variant covers of
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700
in the very near future. We went quite a way out on a financial limb to obtain these highly desirable collector's variants, so we cannot afford to sell them at cover price, but we will do our best to match up with current eBay bid prices. Check with your favorite Mile High Comics store manager for availability.
We think our shipment of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 variants will arrive either Friday, or very early next week, at the latest. Keep in close touch with your store if you would like any of these variants, as our supplies are limited.
Speaking of Spider-Man, if you are among the many thousands of comics fans who are following this earth-shattering new storyline, you need to know that it continues in SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1, which will be releasing next Wednesday morning. This title is already completely sold out from Marvel, so there will be a strict limit of one copy per customer at each of our stores.
Once our stores are sold out of their entire initial order we will supplement their stock with copies of SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1 that we ordered for our online sales, but you need to know that those extra copies will be priced at whatever the current eBay bid prices are reflecting, which I am guessing will be in the $7-$10 range.

Justice League of America #1 Flag Variants
|
I will close today's newsletter with a quick mention that JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 is shipping from DC in five weeks. It will feature an incredible 53 different covers, with the primary being an American flag motif modeled after the Iwo Jima Memorial. There will then be 50 different covers featuring the different state flags, as well as one each from Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico. Through Monday (only!) you can still place pre-orders through our N.I.C.E. Subscription Club for any individual states at $3.99, or sets of all 53 different covers at $119.95.
We will be ordering extra sets to break up and sell as individual states, but because we will inevitably not be able to sell some states, we will need to charge a flat $10 per variant once they arrive. Ordering whichever of these covers most excite you (or an entire set) in advance, is a much better bargain for you... The deadline for us to place an order for you with DC is Monday...
Happy Collecting!
