Plot Synopsis: Tomb of Darkness #21
Three fearsome fables from Marvel's ghostly library. First off, witness a cautionary tale of the Cold War as a brilliant American nuclear physicist defects to the other side of the Iron Curtain. To the U.S.' shame, the scientist helps the Reds build fantastic weapons and defenses against nuclear attack. But a surprise awaits both sides of the conflict on "The Day Before Doomsday!" (Drawn by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers), originally presented in Journey into Mystery #99).

Next, small-time pickpocket Ned Field uses a fake hand to rob commuters on the train, thus earning the name "Five Fingers" (drawn by Paul Hodge, originally presented in Marvel Tales #131). In order to continue to fool his marks, Ned needs to make the hand more and more realistic. But soon, he makes it so realistic the hand takes on a life of its own. Then, a French murderer faces the guillotine with confidence because his girlfriend's father has perfected the means to re-attach heads. So he yells "You Can't Kill Me!" (Written by Stan Lee, originally presented in Strange Tales #16).
