TOMB OF DARKNESS (1974) #17 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Tomb of Darkness #17
Enjoy four fear-filled fables from Marvel's musty vaults. In our first tale "Find a Pin and Pick it Up", two elderly bookshop owners grow to despise each other over the course of their 20-year partnership. Finally, one buys a book describing voodoo rites and plots to murder his partner without fear of legal reprisal. He strikes a deal with the Egyptian god Bast and puts a pin in a doll made to look like his partner. At first his mad plan seems to work but then something goes horribly wrong. This story was originally presented in Uncanny Tales #14. Then, a cruel pirate captain feels the full brunt of a gypsy curse in "There's No Tomorrow" (first appeared in Astonishing Tales #48).

Next, Calvin Bart, a scientist working on a cure for cancer dies and a colleague scientist begins looking over his notes. Discovering that Bart was actually much older than humanly possible and scribbled references to a self-exiled colony of scientists and artists living in Africa, the curious scientist flies in to meet them. He finds the geniuses living impossibly long lives but accomplishing little. "The Secret Beyond Belief!" is that, without the fear of death, humans cease to care about accomplishing anything! (originally presented in Astonishing Tales #63). Finally, a nasty Russian politician is recruited by the KGB into becoming "The Assassin!" for the Soviet Union. He agrees to the assignment. But behind the Iron Curtain, these things have a way of doubling back on you! (originally presented Marvel Tales #129).
