Plot Synopsis: Thor (1962) #175
"The Fall of Asgard!" is written by Stan Lee with art by Jack Kirby and Bill Everett. Cover by Everett. Just prior to Kirby leaving Marvel to create his Fourth World saga at DC, he combined his talent with that of Everett for a truly memorable excursion into the world of the Thunder God. As a child of Earth as well as Asgard, Thor's loyalties have always been split between Midgard and the Eternal Realm. But after breaking a ring of would-be hijackers on Earth, Thor is hailed by the beauteous Lady Sif who informs him that Loki is attempting to take over Asgard and ole Goldilocks doesn't hesitate to answer. With Odin deep in the mystical sleep with ensures his immortality, the God of Mischief reasons the time is ripe to seize power.

With Mountain Giants, trolls, gnomes and demons on his side, it seems Loki may just succeed. Returning from their servitude to Karnilla, the lovely Queen of the Norns, the Warriors Three and Balder the Brave can do little to stem the tide of malice that overruns Asgard. And even though Thor lends his mighty hammer to the cause, they are too late to stop Loki from seizing the Ring Imperial from the hand of sleeping Odin. Now, all who are loyal to Asgard including Thor must bow before the God of Mischief. But can the Thunder God stand by while his nefarious half-brother launches a reign of evil?
