Plot Synopsis: Thanos (2003) #4
"Hunger!" is written by Jim Starlin and drawn by Starlin and Milgrom. Hunger is what defines the existence of Galactus. The last survivor of the universe previous to our own, he was given immense power and with it, an insatiable need to feed off the living energies of planets. But Galactus' appetite is as nothing compared to that of the primordial, other-dimensional force that calls itself simply Hunger. Through subtle manipulation, Hunger has tricked Galactus into re-assembling the Infinity Gems thus opening a portal for the entity to come into our universe and consume it utterly.

Attempting to determine just who has deceived Galactus and why they have done so is the job of Thanos, the former worshiper of Death. Thanos has turned a new life and now seeks to atone for his past sins. Aboard his starship Sanctuary II, Thanos hones in on the source of Galactus' folly but before he can act, Galactus sends his Punishers to destroy the Titan. With the help of Adam Warlock and Pip the Troll, the cyborg assassins are thrown back. That gives Thanos time to discover the true culprit behind Galactus' actions and a chance to warn the Devourer of Worlds that he risks all there is if he continues on his current path. But will mighty Galactus listen to his pleas in time to thwart Hunger's plans?
