SUPERMAN (1986) (#0-226, #650-714) (DC) #43 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Superman (1986) #43
"The Evil Factory" is written and drawn by Jerry Ordway with inks by Dennis Janke. Even as Superman helps put back together the Statue of Liberty after it was sent to the Moon(!), the Man of Steel's life seems to be coming apart, spiraling out of control. Much of the trouble seems to stem from the Factory, a nightmarish genetics lab run by renegade scientists Mokkari and Simyan. From their test tubes, ghoulish creatures emerge, created in the name of the immoral, relentless pursuit of uncaring science. One such abomination is a Kryptonite-colored copy of Superman himself who challenges the original on the roof of the Daily Planet building.

But even as the Man of Steel battles his emerald-hued doppleganger, Jimmy Olsen and the Guardian fly over Scotland's Loch Trevor in an attempt to find Jimmy's kidnapped mother. Mokkari and Simyan are ready for them, however, and counter-attack with flying creatures out of mythology and a loch-dwelling dragon that would make "Nessy" cower in fear. In an attempt to retrieve their Superman-clone, the scientists also bring Superman to the base of their operations, however, and hasten their own demise. It's Mrs. Olsen who has the last laugh as she grabs the miniaturized geneticists and casts them into the Void where they had disposed of their research "mistakes." Meanwhile, Clark Kent returns to the Planet after giving up his job at Newstime magazine and Jose Delgado finds a new job as hired muscle.
